Replying to: kirstie_h (Dec 04, 2006 7:17 am) I bought my Rondo on November 27, 2006. It is an EX with the I4 engine. The sticker price is $19195 plus $600 for Freight. The dealer added on a "Finish Protection Package" for $1495. Additional add-ons such as tax, title transfer, administrative fees, etc. brought the total up to $21,919.50. I paid $8919.5 plus my 2004 Jeep Liberty trade in. I spent about four hours completing the deal and the final deal was about $2000 lower than originally offered. If I had not been comfortable with the personnel involved, I would not have stayed, because the original trip was to check it out, not to buy it. Would someone who knows, tell me if the Rondo is offered for a lease. Dealer was trying to say that no Kia's are offered for leases, yet they are right on the Kia website!   So let me know if the dealer is just lying. Is the Rondo being offered on a lease? They can usually give you a lower payment by offering an 80 month loan for purchase...   So, while technically available, almost no one leases KIAs.. IMO, the only way to buy a Kia, Hyundai, or even a Ford, Chevy, etc., is to pay cash. If you can't do that, save your money until you have a decent down payment, and finance for no more than 24 to 36 months.   A 4, 5, 6, or 7 year loan is a sure fire way to become "upside down" almost immediately, and you will become a debtor for most of your life. Replying to: w9cw (Dec 16, 2006 9:51 am) yes you're absolutely correct! an 80 month loan would be INSANE! and i agree absolutely as well about paying cash.   My original question was a lease though, didn't want to buy the kia, only lease it for 2 or maybe 3 years. was doing research for a friend of mine. He and his wife don't want to own a car, just want to lease. It's their thing. So that's why I had to ask about lease with the Kia Rondo, since they liked it and wanted a vehicle for only a little while.

Anyone "needing" an 80-loan should be buying used (a Caravan, PT Cruiser, older Sienna/Odyssey).   Maybe the new Rondo and other better models will help Kia earn higher residual values (as Hyundia slowly has) to the point where Kia can offer the full range of financing people expect.
