The Escalade is just a tahoe with a bigger engine and more bling. They even use the same steering wheel adjustment so every time you move the wheel you are reminded how much money you wasted on your blinged tahoe. (They might have finally put in a nicer wheel adjustment on the brand new tahoe the last one I drove had the wheel in the right place so I didn't move it)

The GX470 is a gussied up 4Runner/Prado.

The Sequoia does not have a Lexus derivative.

compared to ?

Uh, the Germans.
Look at the fit/finish of a Benz, Bimmer, Audi.
Look at the quality of the plastics, materials.

Well they might not be scared of it but it sure takes a huge chunk of their potential market away as the slade is the #1 Luxury SUV sold.

I see you already have your salespersons hat on.
Just because Caddy gives more of them away doesn't make it the best.
No way an Escalade would ever make it around the Nurburgring.
It's ponderous with a capital P.

Not sure what american will ever want to take his SUV around the Nurburgring. Not what SUV's are for.

Caddy sold 52,000 Escalades last year for about an average of about $65k. No truck from BMW/Mercedes/Volvo comes close to that volume at any price. Not being a salesmen but just stating facts. You may not like them and that is fine but the public in general does.

Have to give credit when credit is due, the new Esclade does seem like a winner from almost every aspect.

My friend rented a new Esclade just not long ago and he couldn't stop praising about how comfortable does it ride and drive. The only beef he has against it is the cheap looking plastics all around.

Oh, and this is coming from a guy who owned Mistu 2000GT, 330ci and currently driving a Porsche Boxster S.

Once again the most popular thing isn't always the best. In fact the most popular thing is usually not the best.

Also there are plenty of people who don't want to drive a car that 51,999 other people every year buy. There is a subset of the populace that likes exclusivity and will pay for it.

I don't think the gangbanger crowd will ever dwindle enough for the Escalade to lose its popularity. And the NBA certainly isn't going anywhere (at least I hope not, with the Celts 7-0 and all, best start since like 1972 ).

Love it. I guess if you have to cut it down for something it might as well be because it is popular.

Hey, they can always buy the GL or M class SUV's for about the same price ($65k) and be in the low volume exclusive club.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is why European cars and SUV's are better.
They are engineered for things that most drivers won't use them for.
An Escalade can barely move in a straight line.
It's steering, suspension and brakes are not capable for prolonged hard use.
You could run an X5 around the Ring without it even breathing hard.
that level of engineering does shine thru even in everyday use.

Someone who truly understands how well European cars are engineered and built would never touch an Escalade or other Caddy.
Cadillac has nothing to offer these people, just a cheaper, less well engineered car.

Well the C-Class and 3 series interiors look spartan compared to the CTS. I do not know what you are talking about volvomax. Hell the S80's interior's you sell make the interiors of the Germans look like Kia Rio's.

I agree with 62' The Escalade, is rumored to come out with a performance version but it will not handle like a sports carand is not intended to. I think Delphi's Magneride, will add a little zest to it's flavor though.

P.S. I'd love to sell Cadillac's. I'm going to see if my trainer can arrange a interview to do just that.
