Replying to: elkein (Nov 20, 2006 6:24 pm) Ive been reading about the blower fan issue that appears to be common with azteks. I have the same issue many of you have. The fan settings are failing one by one. now only 4 and 5 work. From my understanding it is a blower resistor assembly that is causing this. My question is. How do i get to this part? Ive heard its in a tight spot but is accessible, but where is it? I can get a new part for $27 but as with everything my mechanic wants $400 to replace it. How do i do this my self? Thanks

This is a fairly easy job. It is located near the blower itself above the passengers feet. I think it has 4-5 screws that hold it on to the 'airbox'. You have to turn on your back and look up. I can't remember if there was a cover over it or not. But you will know because it plugs into the blower itself. I lost my setting #3 totally and that is why i figured it was that. I tested the new resister to see if it was the problem by unplugging the old one (mounted) and plugging in the unmounted one and testing the air system. It is likely your problem though. Any information on Blower Resistor Plugs would be appriciated. I have changed the resistor, and the head control. After taking apart "everything" and puttin in the new items it still wasn't working. We hot wired the blower and for some reason it all started working. After putting "everything" back 2gether, all the while heat blowing, it stopped working again and wont come back on. No blower speeds no rear defrost (and its been getting very cold) nothing. Any info? Please help. Replying to: ray80 (Nov 30, 2007 8:14 am) For some reason I am not getting power to the control head due you know if this is fed independently or if it is fed thru the resistor..If i jump the red wire in the resistor plug to the orange wire in the resistor plug everything works ( is the orange wire the power from or to the control head???) Replying to: conkycan (Dec 03, 2007 4:33 pm) I don't know as I haven't had to mess with this myself. I do know of another owner that had similar troubles and found loose wires in splice pack which they corrected and sovled problem. (exactly where that is I don't know either )
