Bad news today.............my '07 CR-V is at the Honda dealer for a replacement TCD differential. The service writer called today and told me the replacement differentials are on back order in Japan. The estimated date of arrival in the states is Jan 29th. My CR-V was left at the dealer last week and will remain there until the differential is replaced.

Your starter problem is not limited to the 4WD model, I have a 2WD LX and the same problem you were/are experiencing has happen to me & my wife on at least 4 different occasions since receiving my 2007 CR-V in late September 2006. I too plan to let my dealer know, I thought I was the only one with this problem. It's probably the Mitsubu starter. The reason I'm saying this is because I had my 2002 CR-V 4WD LX Mitsubu starter replaced in August 2006 with a used Mitsubu starter I purchased over the internet from a used part dealer at my expense. The reason I did this is because the starter would have a loud metal hitting metal sound on some starts. I could not get any resolution to this problem on two dealer maintenance appts. because "the technicians were not able to replicate" the problem I had described. The used replacement Mitsubu starter has started without this mysterious sound I was experiencing with the original starter. I strongly believe Mitsubu makes occasional "lemon" starters and we are the unfortunate ones with one of these "lemons" in our 2007 CR-V. I can only pray this problem will be rectified w/o any cost to you & I.

You will notice a definite clunking grinding type noise from rear of vehicle on tight right or left turns - most notably if you turn & drive slowly in circles bot right & left. Do you have AWD model? your post didn't say, this concern is only on the AWD models. Hope this helps!!!

Thanks, i haven't really turned sharply right or left yet with 200 miles. I do have AWD so i will keep an eye on it. I am sensitive to the tranny because mine went on 100K miles on a Subaru which isn't normal but didnt want to pay for it and got the Honda. When i go up a steep hill i notice the Honda is louder and might not shift on time but that is me.

The Delear(grinding noise from the rear axle)looked at the car and told me that he will be replacing the differential fuild. He also told me that they have replaced the fluid in most of 2007 CR-V's and the noise seems to have gone away.

Yeah my noice went away for the most part after two flushes of my differential fluid, it was honda that contacted me actually to get the rear differential replaced. But even if they don't replace the whole thing at least its on record. I think i got more of the star treatment because i was pretty much the first in the US to bring the car in for service, who has to take a new car in 3 days after it was released to the public!!!

To all 07 crv owners....I posted earler regarding the replacement of 2 differentials and now the third one has been installed. Honda has assured me that this one is part of the new differentials that are now being installed into the crv's. Honda assures me that it will be fine. I am still negotiating with them to consider conpensating me in some way due to their mistakes. They are responsible and should help crv purchasers to eliminate the bad taste in their mouths by buying a new car that is faulty.
