Let's see...not many. The Mazda 626 with the 4 cylinder/automatic combination had the dismal Ford CD4E transmission. Those were so bad it's a matter of when, not if, they will fail. Rebuilds also fail. They're just that bad. Oddly the V6 model did not use that trans and was fine. Both manuals and clutches were also OK. Only the 4 cylinder/automatic was affected. First year Miatas had that crank issue, but that's long been resolved (replaced or failed by now). I think 99 Miatas had some clutch chatter issues. Few and far between for the whole Mazda lineup, basically. |

I've had my 06 Miata for a little over a year now, and just found out about a design flaw with plugged soft top drains.....the way I found out is getting into my car and stepping in 3 gallons of water. Has anyone else had this problem and why wasn't I notified? I'm very upset as my car only has 9000 miles on it and was still new to me!

| The original poster in this topic wanted to know if Mazdas were generally reliable, and it looks like that question's been answered, so I'll close it now. I've moved the recent posts about individual problems to the existing Mazda MX-5 (2006+) topic, where you can continue the discussion. | |
