Hi - I have a 97 discovery. The service engine light came on, but rather than pay the dealer $100 to check it I bought a code reader. It shows p0430. This code indicates that the "catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank II)" I just replaced one sensor not long ago (for $900!!!)- do others need to be replaced, or is a whole new catalytic converter needed? Replying to: carl20 (Nov 07, 2006 9:34 am) Should not effect how it drives at all as this is just an emissions check. Sounds to me like your catalytic converter has finaly given up the ghost. Not unusualy on a 10 year old car.

I recently went through inspection in Wash.DC and was told that my Discovery (1997) needed repair on PO130 O2Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1) P1317.. Can Anyone please break that down in layman's terms 4 me and prices please if possible......Thanx">

I have 2001 Discovery II, can anyone tell me where I can get these codes and how to reset them? The one dealer in my area is very, very expensive and I have a good foreign car mechanic but he does not know what it could be. He sees nothing wron except for this light that continuously stays on, however, the truck runs superbly. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Have 1998 discovery 4.0 eng. The motor starts fine but will not rev -up. The engine will not rev above 1200 rpm cough and backfires in plenum Replaced spark plugs and spark plug wires. All the new plugs carbon fouled in 5 min. of running checked air cleaner, mass air flow sensor, fuel pressure is 40 psi. compression check 160 to 170 psi, spark is hot to each plug. No check engine light on but did check for fault codes. Codes were p 1194, p 1191, p 0158,p 0138, p 1138, p 0300, p0307, p 0302, p 0301, p 1316, p 1314, p 1313. Codes indicate miss fire to plugs, and o2 sensors. The engine acts like air intake leak but can't find any.   o2 sensors should not have any effect untill the come up to temp.                                                                          Any ideas?
