I rebuilt a transmission for a 1998 dodge ram 1500 2WD. Now the overdrive light will not go off. How do I check the transmission temp. sensor and the overdrive on/off button.

My 2004 Dodge dually diesel with A/T suddenly will not accelerate above idle. applying foot pressure to the accelerator will move the cable linkage out at the throttle on the engine, but no RPM increase follows. Replying to: bobwinner (Apr 27, 2009 10:00 am) Check to see if your fan is turning. If the computer thinks the fan is malfunctioning, it will put the engine in "limp mode" to prevent overheating. i have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 and i need to get it inspected in an emissions county. We took it in to the shop and they couldn't get a reading from the scan tool. don't quite know what could be wrong. We bought a scan tool and still no reading.

Replying to: paul122 (May 08, 2009 7:17 am) P0138 is high voltage in oxygen sensor 2 located rear of catalytic convertor. Possible causes: 1 Faulty oxygen sensor 2 Short in sensor circuit 3 High fuel pressure (not very likely but keep this in mind)   Check O2 sensor and look for short in signal circuit. Replying to: kcram (Apr 28, 2009 6:32 pm) kcram, thank you. I had the 04 cummins 3500 with no rpm above idle, I had some sickness, and am late answering you. My fan WAS turning. I switched the throttle position sensor (AFT??) with an identical truck, and now BOTH are fine. Thank you.

On a recent trip, I drove my 2004 Ram 3500 Diesel (Auto tranny, 95,000 miles) about 400 miles, no problem. I ate lunch and resumed my trip. 2 miles later, truck would not pull away from traffic light. Added 2 qts tranny fluid, which ran out below truck. Hauled truck home, replaced front tranny seal. At engine start, place in drive, after 3-5 seconds Truck has strong first or reverse, but what should be a shift to second is instead neutral. Kill and restart, and again I have a strong first or reverse for 50 ft, then neutral . I HAVE A 1998 DODGE 2500 DIESEL . MY ABS LIGHT AND MY BRAKE LIGHTS IS STAYING ON.DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS ? HOW DO YOU CHECK THE CODES ON MY TRUCK ? AND MY SPEEDOMETER IS ACTING UP TOO IT WON'T MOVE UNTIL YOU REACH ABOUT 30 MPH HEN IT SHOOTS UP REAL QUICK, ANY IDEAS ?
