My s-type check engine light is on can I manually recieve trouble code? My '80s series camero I could close two terminals on the computer input with a wire to get codes to flash can you do this with the jag?

My s-type has the common (it sounds like) heater not putting out heat replaced the mixer valve +$1600 at a shop still no help does anyone have info, diagram, knowledge, of location of acuator switch for the dampers?
