What this article fails to address is the MSRP advantage Edge will have over Murano. Also, there is probably a core group of peeps in the Midwest who won't buy the Morano because the think it means moron in Italian.

I'd take the Murano over the Edge any day of the week. $37k loaded? No wonder Ford is bleeding cash. I think Ford means moron in Italian.

What does the Murano have over the Edge that justifies the extra cost?

Sounds like Karl pretty much agrees with the First Drive's "well-packaged midsize crossover SUV" take.

"Ultimately I see the Edge being a successful product for Ford. It looks good, it drives well and it has a comfortable, roomy and attractive (if somewhat chintzy) interior. Ford is hoping for well over 100,000 in annual sales, and I think it will get them."

Murano is faster 0-60, despite what article says... by coldcranker

The Edmunds.com article is in error, because Car & Driver has the Murano doing 0-60 in 7.5 seconds, and the same magazine has the MKX (Edge clone) doing 0-60 in 8.1 seconds. The vehicles are close, but the lighter (yet same sized) Murano with the great VQ-series engine is faster.

Actually, coldcranker, my article was not in error. The 0-60 time I gave for the Murano came from a crossover SUV comparsion test Edmunds.com conducted in 2003. Here's the link if you're interested: 2003 Midsize Crossover SUVs Comparison Test Specs & Performance

Where possible, we quote from our own test results.

Assuming that the 0-60 times of both the Murano and the Edge are within 1 to 2 seconds of each other, WHO CARES!

Someone out there planing to take the Edge to Autocross?

GEEZE!

This forum is for discussing vehicles. 0-60 times are about vehicles. Sorry if this offends you.
