The SE has ABS standard, while the GS version and the GLS version do not.

I think the smallest hyundia is the Getz not the Accent.

Before I got stuck to this SE, my first choice was the Yaris with all the TRD upgrade parts such as Sportivo Suspension, 18" wheel with Pirelli and floor mats. Thats just it. Took some advice from friends, one strived hard to convince me not to get the Yaris. It had cheap interior and feels cheap driving it as well. Luckily for the same amount, the SE beats the rest for the value.

I am glad to read all the reviewers and comments on the Hyundai Accent. I agree to most of it.

I am very happy with the SE trim i have. Some things that cant be read in this forums is the upgrades.

The rear fenders can accept 235x35x18 wheels which is awesome. The Engine was a Mitsubishi made and if you want to keep them for good, you might think of getting a Mivec engine for it.

Hopefully we see the Accent SR face lift (projectory type head lamps)on the market. The Accent SR with same face is Euro only, but the only diff is the body kit.

Thanks to Jeseca of GOHYUNDAI in Stockton for helping me with my recent purchase. You are awesome!

The Alpha engine was designed in Korea and it's built by Hyundai in Ulsan; it's not a Mitsubishi engine. The 2006 and later Accent has the "CVVT Alpha II" version.

i am going to have to agree with alpha. the article that you wrote about the accent was a little bit confusing and hard to follow even from the point of view of some one that works for the company and is trained to know all about hyundais. that and tell me where you can find a 2007 accent SE 3door with an msrp of under $14,000

$14,015 MSRP (15 dollar difference) according to Hyundai USA's website will get you what I thought the most "fun-to-drive" car in the class.

There are defn. SE trim to be had for under $14K - a steal if you ask me. My dealer told me the SEs, especially, are leaving the lot as soon as they get them.

They must be, because the only SEs I've seen on a dealer lot are fully loaded automatics with the Sun & Sound package, which list for well over $16k. It's a better value in base SE form I think, at invoice or below and with the $500 rebate. Those must go fast though.

I guess not. Maybe you tested a new one. It becomes softer after 5,000 miles. Mine is on 8,300 now. I think it needs a break-in. Some say, Yaris is much noisier.

Hyundai's CVVT Alpha II engine used in the 2006+ Accent is also used in the 2006+ Rio, which shares the same platform as the Accent. So it's a Hyundai engine, but used by Kia also.
