Does it make a difference in the price to the dealer if you're paying cash or getting credit? Maybe it's a stupid question, but I am beginning to sort of wonder. Also, I am glad that we walked away from a deal for an Outlander LXS with sun/sound and other package because it was only 90% of MSRP. Thanks to a poster in a another section who thought that wasn't such a good deal. Yet, that means I would have had to negotiate down another $1600 or so. That doesn't seem like much fun, or doesn't make the car as attractive to our household. I am thinking this especially since these cars are going to be sold used (and already are) at a more attractive price. But then I am thinking that used cars are supposed to be negotiated even more. Great.

I have decided to get an outlander, as loaded as I can afford... so I want to learn as much as I can about it prior to going to the dealers. Other than here, where else can I get good info and chat with some owners! Thanks

Replying to: piast (Sep 04, 2007 4:21 pm) XLS + 4WD + Navigation/Sun+Sound/Luxury + Rear Entertainment System (which normally isn't an option on the XLS). MSRP on the vehicle is 32,525. Invoice (according to Edmunds) is 30,087. Please keep in mind this is the XLS and does not come with a rebate (although I do qualify for $500 recent grad rebate). I have also already been offered 1.9% for 60 month (instead of the 2.9%/60 that they've been advertising).

Does anyone know if they will give you 1.9 or 2.9 financing on a LS in addition to the 1 k rebate?? I founf=d a dealer who will sell a LS 4wd with sight and sun pak for $22900.

Replying to: roq (Sep 07, 2007 9:32 am) I paid $1,000 under dealer invoice, XLS, 4wd, S&S package, Luxury Package and Navigation on August 25th. Here's my breakdown: Car as described= $27,999 Doc fee = $199 TTL = +/- $1,480 $500 down and financed the rest for 60 mos at 2.9%. Silly to pay "cash" for any car when dealers are offering sub 4% for financing this time of year. CDs (got two right now at ingdirect.com) are paying out 5.15%. let your cash work for you....still netting 1 point or so with a CD, depending on note term. I have a two year old girl and her Britax car seat fits nicely behind the front passenger seat. Door does not swing out 90 degrees as with the CRV when placing my little bambino in the backseat, but fine for my needs. My wife drives a Mini Cooper and I drive a Ford Excursion. Needed a third, "in-between-sized" car for us. LOVE THE OUTLANDER AND WOULD BUY IT ALL OVER AGAIN!! No issues thus far and I have just under 1k miles on it! Bummer that Mitsubishi is getting alot of bad press about its longevity in N.A. AVG MPG now is about 22. Use 87 Octane. CRVs are nice. Rondos too. RAV4 also nice. But like Goldielocks and the three bears, the Outlander XLS was "just right." Drove 25 miles south to Boston to get the XLS...local dealers close to my home laughed and would not negotiate when I told them what I wanted to pay. Dealer was 2 star rating out of 5....but the price was right. Besides, you can take the Outlander to any dealer for servicing. Anyway, just wanted to put my two cents worth out on this thread to help those folks who are looking to get into any Outlander trim level. BTW, the dealer in Boston offers somewhat similiar pricing for the ES, LS models as well. Rob |

I found what looks like a fully loaded 2007 outlander XLS AWD for sale, its got 10k miles and has navigation, rear seat entertaiment too. Its going for $24998, does this sound like a good price considering it will be used car financing which won't be as good as new car financing directly from mitsubishi?
