Replying to: zeb (Sep 04, 2007 7:49 pm) Santa Fe: 20 mpg / 25 mpg (manual) V6 185 horses 21 mpg / 26 mpg (auto) V6 185 horses Outlander 19 mpg / 26 mpg (auto) V6 220 horses. I'd say based on my experience the highway mileage is excellent on Outlander and city mileage is just OK. |

Replying to: zeb (Sep 04, 2007 7:49 pm) So, for the 07 ES try this :(20.686+625)- 2000 - 500 = $18.811 They will fight back, so set your upper limit before you go. If you sign the papers in $18.800 - 19.300 range + TTL you will do very well. Mine is to new to find exact mileage numbers, but with all suburban driving, computer shows average of 22 mpg. Santa Fe with better engine (3.3L, which all owners strongly recommend over 2.7L) will give you few miles less. Check Outlander and Santa Fe Real World MPG treads on this forum. You may expect to pay bit more for the Santa Fe as well.

Replying to: piast (Sep 05, 2007 6:32 am) Is the XLS interior basically the same as the LS (other than leather seats option, are the interior plastics the same?). I will definitely try another test drive, and also the Santa Fe (I sort of lean towards the Santa Fe now, but purely for aesthetics...dumb really.). The user reviews are so great on the Outlander, I *want* to fall in love with it....maybe I just need to try again. Obviously I'm being all girly and looking at it from a beauty perspective and not necessarily from all the great features you get. Sorry, one more thing (and I know this has nothing to do with pricing) - anybody have any experience with a child's car seat in this car or the Santa Fe - tight fit? Thank you - I hope to post more (sorry!) if/when I get to the real pricing battle. -Sarah

Does it make a difference in the price to the dealer if you're paying cash or getting credit? Maybe it's a stupid question, but I am beginning to sort of wonder. Also, I am glad that we walked away from a deal for an Outlander LXS with sun/sound and other package because it was only 90% of MSRP. Thanks to a poster in a another section who thought that wasn't such a good deal. Yet, that means I would have had to negotiate down another $1600 or so. That doesn't seem like much fun, or doesn't make the car as attractive to our household. I am thinking this especially since these cars are going to be sold used (and already are) at a more attractive price. But then I am thinking that used cars are supposed to be negotiated even more. Great.

I have decided to get an outlander, as loaded as I can afford... so I want to learn as much as I can about it prior to going to the dealers. Other than here, where else can I get good info and chat with some owners! Thanks

Replying to: piast (Sep 04, 2007 5:21 pm) XLS + 4WD + Navigation/Sun+Sound/Luxury + Rear Entertainment System (which normally isn't an option on the XLS). MSRP on the vehicle is 32,525. Invoice (according to Edmunds) is 30,087. Please keep in mind this is the XLS and does not come with a rebate (although I do qualify for $500 recent grad rebate). I have also already been offered 1.9% for 60 month (instead of the 2.9%/60 that they've been advertising).

Does anyone know if they will give you 1.9 or 2.9 financing on a LS in addition to the 1 k rebate?? I founf=d a dealer who will sell a LS 4wd with sight and sun pak for $22900.
