I guess the logical thing to do it what another year and a half when the lease is up and get into a new X5 then. The problem is my emotional side is in love with the new X5. It will be a long wait. The spec sheet on it shows a turning radius of 42 feet- that's Surburban territory, and 5-6 feet wider than its competition. Ouch. They drove it on a race track- but how about a parking lot? Course- I never know if I should really trust all the specs on edmunds.

When Toyota changed the 4-Runner in the 90's and I wanted out of the lease (to get a non-SUV), I called the leasing company and asked what it would cost for me to purchase the vehicle. Because of a model change the purchase price was much lower. So, I advertised the 4-Runner for sale at the same price as I could get it. The new buyer got a bargain; I got out of the lease without paying anything; and it just took a week to it.
