Torque steer in these cars should be almost completely unnoticeable even to an attentive driver. FWD turbo Volvos are VERY sensitive to alignment. Further, from what a couple of techs have said on these boards, the MAJORITY of Volvos are misaligned when they come off the ship. I used to have a '94 850 Turbo which was a blast (and it had real torque steer - it was never a problem because it was very consistent and you learned to compensate without even thinking about it.) I then moved to a '98 S70 T5 which was a bit more refined in all respects including torque steer. We now have a '99 S80 T6 and '01 V70 T5 and I can tell you when they are properly aligned the torque steer is really gone (the car is still susceptible to tram-lining if the road has any bit of a crown to it though.) Thanks. -rollie rdollie |
