When I first looked at MS6 there were plenty on the lot. When I got serious, they had 5 left. When I was ready to buy, four were left on the lot and about 15-20 in a regional search. After my purchase, three were left at my dealer's lot. The selection is continuously diminishing. Depends how particular you are about color and options. The later you wait, the less particular you need to be.
I tend to like the lighter colors. Here in Colorado the sun is very intense with few clouds; dark colors get hot quick. I do like red, but I don't want a fast car which attracts too much attention to itself.

If you truly like black, buy black. Yes, you will have a hot car in FL; you'll need front + rear sunshades (you can get these as accesories, maybe not from Mazda), and if you're sure one of FL's frequent T-storms is not on the way, crack the sunroof. IF it clean, you can put a silvery colored cover over it which will do wonders for keeping heat in check. If that's too much trouble, try white or silver. Any other dark color is only a small advantage over over black re heat.
Re dirt; if you really like the car you'll wax it often and hose off/hand dry 2x/week. You'll be paying for it for a while, get something you actually like. I saw the black today; it has glittering mica flecks in it so when buffed out it'll look great, and not like everyone else's car.

Get black....it is by far the best color on Mazdaspeed 6. The silver and gray have a horrible purple shade and the black cherry is really hard to look at without throwing up. You clearly have only two choices black and white. Of course that's from a man's perspective. If you are a woman than I guess purple doesn't make you look that bad. Good luck with your decision.

If you are unable to find a 2006, they are going fast, I only have 2 left, you may have to wait until 2007. Production numbers will be slim. The Black Cherry Mica and Whitewater Pearl have been deleted.
Personally, I believe the Titanium Gray (not Galaxy Gray which has a bit of blue in it) Whitewater Pearl and Black are the best colors.

If you don't like red which is a beatiful color in speed6 liquid platinum is the next best. Black scratches to easy 2 much work to keep it the paint flawless.
