I did not see anything on the Porsche in the site. Just a WRX with SnowTrax. Notice they took it in the shop after a short run. The SnowTrax are a maintenance nightmare.

Looks like I grabbed the parent link instead of the story link. Trying again:

It is one way to have your cake and eat it too. Just lacks any appeal to me.

We have a friend that her mini van died and she cannot afford another vehicle. She has been riding the bus to her little shop in Alpine. She absolutely hates it. The body odors of the homeless she can live with. The fellow throwing up in the aisle of the bus was horrible. Not to mention the people coughing, sneezing and spreading germs all over everyone. I am so thankful I have never been put into a situation like that. Public transit is just an extension of the Urban Cesspools we have created in this country. Driving across America, we saw millions of acres that are uninhabited and unused. We need to spread out more. Tear down the big cities and send people out in the country.

"...Tear down the big cities and send people out in the country..."

Careful there. That's what Pol Pot did in Cambodia.

Careful there again, Drama King.

You are again reflecting an old stereotype of public transit that apparently will not die.

The VAST majority of riders do NOT experience what is happening to your friend.

I've described the racism and mental health issues my children experienced riding the bus so it's not all flowers and cupcakes as you would wish to believe.

A local car dealer has taken advantage of this perception in his car ads. He touts the benefit of getting away from the "germs and the creepy guy" on the bus as a reason to buy his cars.

Public transit it not all roses and cupcakes, indeed.

But neither is it only homeless, stinky vomiting disease-ridden fleabags.

Both are irrational exaggerations.

It's not just public transportation larsb. I can walk down any street or into almost any public building, and I can tell you that if you took 20 people at random, I would not want to be in a bus or subway-car with at least one of them, for some reason.

Even in the 1st-class section of an airplane I bet there's people I don't want to share air with, or listen to.

Yeah I saw part of an interview this morning on ABC, and they mentioned that he was a billionaire now? It's just amazing huh how he knew which energy-companies to invest in, while almost anyone else on the planet hasn't done so well.

Why we wouldn't suspect that there's any political influence here do we? Just another great example of legalized-stealing, which makes any organized-crime ventures pale in comparision.

If there's any Robin Hoods out there, feel free to go after the Gore-type people of the world. If I'm on the jury, you'll get a "Not-guilty" from me.
