But we will save on the newspaper bill. They will all be gone. That will make the tree huggers happy. I'm glad it was the young people that voted this bunch in. They are going to be stuck with the enormous debt.

You sure you didn't mean oil from a tanker? I'll burn some extra wood and oil tonight to make up for any canceled flights. Temps. in the single-digits tonite again; but that's just weather every year.

Bogus has about 4" but it didn't open until 12/20 last year. Hard frost and an inch in town last night. Everyone talks about it but no one does anything about it.

But there's always Al Gore.

How about this - Al for Auto Czar?

"The [bailout] program would be overseen by an official, tapped by President George W. Bush, whom congressional aides and lawmakers describe as an "auto czar." This person would act as a kind of trustee with authority to bring together labor, management, creditors and parts suppliers to negotiate a restructuring plan. He or she also would be able to review any transaction or contract valued at more than $25 million."

WSJ

Before you laugh too hard, Al did meet with POTUS-elect Obama the other day.

I would think that if the Bush administration goes along with the bill, he would pick someone that Obama would keep in the job. Big AL would be as rough on the Big 3 as Ralph Nader. Here is a tough pill for the automakers to swallow. CA could say you have to build only ZEV cars and they are out of business overnight.

One danger for auto makers is exposing the industry to congressional meddling as it attempts to build a new business model. The legislation, among other things, would bar the companies from participating in legal challenges to state laws designed to impose limits on greenhouse-gas emissions. The White House opposes that provision, congressional aides said.

Camel Burgers & Roo Kabobs to save the planet by gagrice

Australians were urged Tuesday to eat camels to stop them wreaking environmental havoc, just months after being told to save the world from climate change by consuming kangaroos.

A three-year study has found that Australia's population of more than a million feral camels -- the largest wild herd on earth -- is out of control and damaging fragile desert ecosystems and water sources.

The Desert Knowledge Cooperative Research Centre, which produced the report, plans to serve camel meat at a barbecue for senior public servants in Canberra on Wednesday to press its point.

Report co-author Professor Murray McGregor said a good way to bring down the number of camels was to eat them.

"Eat a camel today, I've done it," he told the national AAP news agency.

"It's beautiful meat. It's a bit like beef. It's as lean as lean, it's an excellent health food."

Similar claims are made for kangaroo meat, but the rationale for farming and eating the national emblem -- as outlined by the government's chief climate change adviser in October -- is different.

Millions of farm animals such as cows and sheep produce massive amounts of harmful greenhouse gases, said Professor Ross Garnaut, but kangaroos emit negligible amounts of methane.
