Well, got another "SMOG ONLY" "random" test due on a 13 year old SUV. Any odds it will NOT pass with the SAME flying colors as the prior posted 15 year old SUV ?(same make/model different year)

I run both on 15,000 miles OCI's. The miles I have down this with these two vehicles exceeds 240,000 miles.

I know what the test is - it's just that the test didn't mean squat in my real world tests. Kinda like all you guys saying the computer models don't explain the 3' of snow that fell on your front lawn last night.

Indeed !!! There is a lot of hot air about this global warming stuff. Not to pick on AL GORE, but he probably has the carbon foot print of a min of 148 of my neighbors families each living in a 2000 sq foot house!!?? . Lessons taught/ learned? I need to consume more? Perhaps I should go to the Polish global warming meeting and let the peasants do the offsets?

So the Ford CEO instead of taking the private jet to Washington for the second round of begging, finally got it hammered into his head, It was announced on CNBC he will take a Ford Escape to attend the WASH DC. dog and pony shows. One pundit compared it to three CEO's going to a soup kitchen in tuxedos.

Wouldn't it be embarrassing if he had a break down? (see I told cha we shoulda flew the private but soon to be publically owned jet/s) The Chysler CEO knows better and will fly, albeit commercial! TSK ! Of course compared to how the President of the USA to to the Speaker of the House rolls.....

34 BILLION and growing!? If the Demos are really concerned about the so called "little guy" here is a modest proposal. Give a ( big three) TAX CREDIT and/or/both voucher on the purchase of a 2008/2009 MY vehicle. This can be extended to the prime generator of jobs: small business. So if the big 3 normally product 8 M vehicles per MY. Pretty simple to do the math? Let the consumer vote with their economic choices!!!!!!!

It is truly interesting it is coming to light the deal to make the SUV's/Truck segment being the a"prime segements" with the unions to fund the 30-50 year bloated auto logistics system. The party has LONG since been over !!!

Are you saying that they are discriminating against you because you have SUVs?

I think that is terrible. You should call in the ACLU to represent you. You are an oppressed minority and need to be compensated. Bus in some protesters to make your case. Legislation should be passed. You have rights!

While we are all sitting around another poor SUV is being burned somewhere in this country by eco-nazis.

Actually a 35 mpg diesel SUV would meet the new 2012 35 mpg standards !! Can't buy em if they either outlaw them, ban them or restrict them. Keep in mind most of the good turbo diesel SUV's are made by Kyoto signer countries.

For those that think the GW Cult is not in this for the money, just hang on.

BOB JOHNSON, Associated Press Writer – Fri Dec 5, 4:43 am ET
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – For farmers, this stinks: Belching and gaseous cows and hogs could start costing them money if a federal proposal to charge fees for air-polluting animals becomes law.

Farmers so far are turning their noses up at the notion, which is one of several put forward by the Environmental Protection Agency after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2007 that greenhouse gases emitted by belching and flatulence amounts to air pollution.

"This is one of the most ridiculous things the federal government has tried to do," said Alabama Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks, an outspoken opponent of the proposal.

It would require farms or ranches with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle or 200 hogs to pay an annual fee of about $175 for each dairy cow, $87.50 per head of beef cattle and $20 for each hog.

The executive vice president of the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation, Ken Hamilton, estimated the fee would cost owners of a modest-sized cattle ranch $30,000 to $40,000 a year. He said he has talked to a number of livestock owners about the proposals, and "all have said if the fees were carried out, it would bankrupt them."

It is our STINKING EPA gone crazy. It will only get worse.
