Meanwhile some people in Brazil or Indonesia are cutting the rainforests to make furniture or flooring.

Weyerhaeuser has been reforesting Brazil for many years. I just installed 1300 feet of Lyptus Wood from Brazil. It grows to commercial size in 15 years. It is harder than hard rock maple or Brazilian Cherry. It was used as cutting boards to start with. Now you can get it for furniture, cabinets and flooring. Beautiful stuff and eco friendly.

I went with formaldehyde-free grass. Neither one is all that great from a freight standpoint.

With all the bamboo clothing showing up, I expect to see some bamboo fabric in a new car as well as 'boo dash kits.

The BMW X5 can be had with Bamboo. We put bamboo in our old home that we are still trying to sell. It does not hold up very well. Do no use bamboo in an office. The plastic wheels raise havoc on it. Bamboo is only about half the hardness of Maple and not close to the Brazilian hardwoods.

I was always partial to either Rosewood or Brazilian Teak.

Depends on the brand. Mine's harder than the #2 red oak downstairs. I tossed a bunch of soft samples first though. Actually wanted some soft pine, but the freight was cheaper getting bamboo from China than shipping pine from the Southeast.

The fabric supposedly isn't very durable but the trim in the X5 should be fine.

"...Under offsets, anyone emitting carbon can invest in a scheme that mitigates the pollution..."

So I can let my lawn grow and cancel out a couple of SUVs. Great idea.

"...The Mango trees...all died..."

That is so typical of the earth worshipers. They understand nothing about nature.

I wouldn't put it past them to plant palm trees in Alaska so the polar bears have some shade.

Don't look now, but that cat is putting his carbon footprints all over your floor.

Lots of the highly rated Janka stuff didn't pass my fingernail test.

Ah well, anyone got any auto related GW stuff?

Are you one of those steel manicured finger nail martial artists?

Well, got another "SMOG ONLY" "random" test due on a 13 year old SUV. Any odds it will NOT pass with the SAME flying colors as the prior posted 15 year old SUV ?(same make/model different year)

I run both on 15,000 miles OCI's. The miles I have down this with these two vehicles exceeds 240,000 miles.
