My kinda guy...............at least where his views on Al Gore are concerned. You have to love the leader of any country that builds cars as well as the Czech's do, (i.e. Skoda).

So that is one of his claims to fame, the Skoda? Plus Skoda will make money in this poor year for car sales. More than you can say for any of our automakers in the USA. Sounds like we picked the wrong leaders.

Skodas are just VWs now. You haven't lived until you've ridden in a old school Skoda, kinda like a VW Bug from the 60s without all the luxury and safety features.

Methane Up, Fertilizer Bad by kernick

An interesting article that actually mentions other GHG's such as methane and nitrous oxide.

http://www.usatoday.com/weather/climate/globalwarming/2008-11-25-greenhouse-gase- s-record-highs_N.htm

Methane is about 30X more potent than CO2 as a GHG.

I wonder whether the methane is mainly due to human-leaks, or more likely natural venting?

Or is it the Excess cosmic rays? by kernick

Do the GW models of the climate include the methane mentioned above. Maybe; but I doubt they include things like the following.

http://blogs.usatoday.com/sciencefair/2008/11/cosmic-ray-hots.html

What effect does this extra radiation have on heating the atmosphere or ionizing it and creating chemical reactions in the air?

Oh how little we understand, and yet Mr. Gore and his paid-for-scientists would have you believe we must drastically change our lifestyle.

I would think NOT, as the examples you mentioned are NOT sound bite able and are normally relegated to fonts sizes less than the fine print on those sped read advertisements. and as filler. Conversely, they are sensationalized on rags like the National Enquirer, probably as a follow on to articles like: "The Aliens After They Abducted Me, Let Me Drive Their FLYING Saucer".

Global Cooling signs here in NE by kernick

Not only are the air temperatures been really cold around here (which could be discounted as weather, and not climate), as expressed in the following article; but the ocean temperatures which are far harder to change because of their mass are colder than normal.

And it is only Fall! The only people who like winter are the skiiers and plow-drivers; so I say again let's forget about keeping the Earth this cold.

So how did you know I was the former and not the latter? They did let me drive an Oshkosh once! MORE POWER !!!

We are able to drive up to the snow SKI and drive out of the snow,( in as little as 2 hours: Actually 4 hours) The 3 or four total winter seasons I have so called LIVED 24/7 in the snow was enough to last my lifetime, and I was dragged kicking and screaming to those. ( for 2 years, I was stationed 90 miles south of the Army's Artic training Headquarters, 10th Mountain Division- USA's version of Siberia?) Watching your car rust in front of your eyes was not my idea of fun.

Me too, but I only have to drive about 30 minutes to get to the snow.
