Replying to: toby35906 (Apr 17, 2007 4:29 pm) If this was a Chevy Blazer I'd say look at the relay and the wiring and connector to the pump. Relays go bad and connectors get loose and corroded. Also check the ground wire probably pump to frame which means the engine to firewall strap (on a Blazer) must be in place. I don't do Fords.

i replace y trans mission in 1989 ranger 2.9 fi. ford upon starting it up.. it for about 30sec. after searching i found that my eec relay sw keeps blowing my 30amp fuse. also i dont hear my fuel pump cycle on.

Well I still have yet recieved an answer to what is wrong with the vehilce, My husband has changed the fuel pump, wiring harness, spark plugs and rotary cup but it still won't start, could it be the emissions ar the computer in the vehicle? Replying to: v_bunnies10100 (Feb 17, 2009 10:11 am) Also, make sure the connector hasn't come off the crankshaft position sensor. looking from the front, it is at 7 o'clock on the crankshaft. If the sensor is not telling the ECM that the engine is turning, the engine will not start. I am not sure which it shuts down, the ignition, the fuel injection, or both.
