I have received three different price quotes for the information that I requested under the Freedom of Information Act. Each time it increases. I am beginning to believe that they do not want me to have the information. Wonder why?

Now, I totally understand why Ford is permitted to put our lives in jeopardy and fleece us all at the same time. Our government condones it, or the government is totally incompetent.

I have a problem that the vehicle will not go. I took it to a transmission shop and they said there were several codes that showed up. They cleared them and it was fine for 2 days. I then took it back and was informed that it was not a transmission problem. I then called Dobbs, they told me that it was a dealer problem. The dealer said it was the powertrain module. Due to the fact that the seal was no good and water got in it. We had had rain for several days.
Well 2 weeks later was driving down the highway and when I went to go from a stoplight it wouldnt go. I had to be towed back to Ford. What is the problem?????

Is this on a Ford? If so how did you report it to NHTSA?

Which case are you addressing? It appears that there may be two different items - The torque converter and the PCM (Power Control Module). If you are an attorney, I could use a little advice right about now.

It's pitiful how we all hope against hope that an attorney will see our plight and want to help. I'm not getting that this person is an attorney. If you are, please, consider helping what appears to be a lot of working, family people who have suffered and continue to be victimized by Ford and our govt. In our case, we've had to pay to replace the trans, had it go out again, and now live for the next 18 months in fear because we owe to much on the vehicle with too many miles to trade, sell, etc. Not a day goes by that I don't fear for my husband's safety and pray. With a daughter in college 3 hours away and this being our "best" vehicle, we will put our whole family in harms way to transport her this holiday season. I'd like to know how these people at Ford and NHTSA sleep at night. Please, any attorney who has the slightest sense of justice or a need to help others, hear our plea. We've got a 2006 Freestar that we are paying $500/month for. We've never caught up from the $3200 trans job and the loss of income from not having a vehicle. Now we get to live in constant fear that one or all of us will lose our lives. I guess it's the American way now. When there is 1 or more fatalities, then some magazine show looking to make money with some investigative reporting; will profit on the dead bodies. America has come so far. God bless each owner and their families in harms way.

Sad state of affairs [coneflower1] by nadineb

Reading your post makes me very sad for the state of affairs in our country.

Ford is under the belief that it's all about customer satisfaction issues, and that the complaint rates are low and primarily related to inconvenience with the repair process or overall vehicle dissatisfaction.

If the CEO,engineer, or attorney who writes the letter may have a difficult time understanding the cost factor because I am sure they make a considerable amount more money than the average low to middle class person. However, the safety issue far out weighs the cost factor. Maybe they should drive their family around in the Freestar
