Reasonably easy to test - pain in the butt to replace but doable with a collection of extensions & the right socket. Your HO engine has a different sensor than my RENIX XJ but test procedure is basically the same - check my onsite & off site tech indexes plus the downloads area. Disconnect the CKS harness connector - near firewall, rear of head, driver side area. Use a digital volt meter set to low voltage AC - you are basically checking for a low AC voltage pulse generated as the engine is cranked with the starter. This pulse signals the computer where the engine TDC is at so the computer can control engine ignition. fuel etc. You can also measure resistance but that's less reliable of an indicator as these things often fail when hot, only on Tuesdays or when your mechanic is on vacation... in other words: The CKS can be intermittant. Check out the links on my site http://www.lunghd.com and if you still have questions post back or contact me via my web form and I'll try to help ya out. |

| Last night I drove to the hospital and back with no prob. Parked the car and the next morning tried to start and it didn't want to. Turned key, engine turned over and didn't start. Tried again while giving gas and started up but all interior light dimmed and as soon as i let the gas pedal go car completely shut off. Any suggestions? | |
