Only a matter of time? by joncanada

I'm glad that there are people who are very happy with their vehicles, as that gives me hope for mine, but do you not worry that it is only a matter of time before you experience issues? If not, what about how your vehicle was made differently makes you feel at ease?

I have experienced the battery harness issue after only just 500 miles, and I my ignition does not stick, but has become sticky. My worry is that in time I may also experience the squeaks and rattles, the lunging forward of the vehicle, the poor breaking, etc., that other people have experienced.

I am amazed at the problems and the quality of service posted here. I purchased a 2006 VUE GL in May this year. My first SUV style car but by third GM vehicle. I now have about 7K miles and have had two non-routine service issues. This is not unusual compared with new Dodge, Buick, Chrysler, Mercury, and Toyota I have purchased over the years. The first was a “check engine” light than was non-blinking but the dealer (Saturn of Little Rock) provided a VUE courtesy car and corrected the problem (battery charging) promptly. The second non-routine service was the result of an alert notice mailed to me from Saturn regarding the wiring harness problem. This too was corrected promptly. I have never had any more prompt, friendly, and courteous automobile service over my 62 years of car ownership experience.

What makes me feel at easy with my Saturn Hybrid Vue - to quote another poster - I am "insulated from reality".

If you read my earlier posts I did have problems with my Vue (dead battery + cruise control issue) and they were resolved. With over 28,500 miles and over 1000 turns of the ignition - if the problems have not resurfaced by now - the odds are that they will not. (And if they do - I will deal with them.)

If you go over this entire post you will find about 10-15 different owners who have had problems. If Saturn sold 7000 Hybrids - and the majority of owners had problems - you would think there would be more negative entries in this thread?

Most owners do not write when all is well - only when they have problems. While some regret their purchase - I do not.

In the mean time, when you see a Midnight Blue Saturn Hybrid Vue traveling down the road with Maryland plates - give me a wave. (That is a friendly wave.)

Most owners write only when they have problems... by city_living

The percentage of the 2007 Vue GL owners WITH problems, are more than likely TOO BUSY TRYING TO GET THEIR VEHICLE OUT OF SERVICE AND HOPING THE ISSUE(S) IS FIXED, and don't have TIME to search car forums and post a complaint!

I am getting mine out of service today after I leave work, and I'M PRAYING that the sticking ignition problem is FIXED, after it being 'fixed' four times to date!

My car (07 Hybrid Vue, bought in January) has been out of service for six weeks and counting. I took it in to get the harness replaced and while it was there they noticed that the battery was leaking acid. The battery has yet to come in. The first batch of batteries didn't pass QC so they are scrambling to get more made. After speaking with both national Saturn people and my dealership, the dealership got me moved up to the 'first list' of people who will get a battery when they finally ship (tentatively Nov 14, but they are quick to tell me that it is a 'tentative ship date'). I was on the third list. Saturn National has been absolutlely, unbelievably HORRIBLE. I can't believe they actually have jobs because they certainly don't seem to think that, as customer service representatives, that customers are in any way important. I can't imagine that once my car is 'fixed' that it is just going to up and run like the day I bought it after sitting outside with no battery for over 6 weeks. I am going to talk to the dealer about trading up for a comparably equipped 07 Outlook and see if they will work with me, as National refuses to speak with me or entertain any of my ideas, as their "#1 priority is getting my car repaired." You would think if that were the case, they could take the batteries off the 08 models and put one in mine. I talked to a friend who works at a dealership in another part of the country and he says the batteries in the 07 and 08 models are comparable, but Saturn is actively choosing not to do that. So here I sit, 6 weeks later.
I am disgusted.

Are we safe? by tranny4

Well, we are trading the 2007 Saturn Vue greenline in. We were offered 19500. We have close to 16k in miles. We bought it Dec 06, 2006. And the lemon law is 18 months or 18k. After all the trouble we've had, they are making a profit on our heartache. It has a new transmission, a new harness, a window that makes nosies and well just not what we want in a vehicle. I feel for who ever buys it. Bummer!
Hopefully we aren't making a mistake in buying a 2007 grand prix with 22k on it. Doing a car fax on it first.
At least we are dumping this lemon

Going In For Fourth/Fifth Time - Still Not Fixed! by city_living

Got my Vue GL back last evening, and the 'newly installed' ig. switch and housing are still giving me problems! The key still won't turn all the time, and when I take the key out of the ignition after it was turned at least to the ACC position, there's a loud 'pling' sound, and you can FEEL something springing back!! It's going BACK into service tonight for the fourth time (their count, but I say this is the fifth time they've seen my car for this issue.).

And, to top off this problem, this new ignition doesn't "LOCK" the steering wheel when the key is out of the ignition. The service manager Brook tells me this is the part Saturn sent for them to install!!! This isn't correct, either, as the column should lock for safety/theft prevention.

All this with a new car, only 5 months old.

Just so you know Tack, I think it's great you love your car. I loved mine too before all of this. and it does give me some hope that maybe this time it's fixed. I'll have to ask my husband again what he told me about the 2008. Maybe I misunderstood. And I'm sorry if you felt you had to defend yourself. I was only kidding about the Saturn plant thing. I didn't mean it. It's hard to decipher context in email isn't it?

Anyway, good luck!
