Replying to: joseph85750 (Jun 28, 2008 6:31 am) Number 2) is possible on the 2005 - 2007 vehicles (and I assume 2008), I have heard testimony from several folks who have installed a full size spare with no modifications. Number 3) I installed on my 2006 FEH for just that purpose. It is a Class III hitch and includes a 2" receiver to handle my "Yakima HoldUp" bike rack. (The rack install may affect the full size spare desire. My hitch closely follows the circumference of the spare.) |

The visor is too narrow! In the evenings I drive North, which means the sun comes in my window. I swing the visor to the side window, but it leaves 1/3 of the side window open to the sun - the portion that shines on me. I suggest a visor extension, or making the visor slide along the arm so that I can block the sun in the side windows. |

1. "Home Link" to program garage door openers 2. Back-up camera 3. Class I hitch (for bike rack) 4. Optional rear seat entertainment (DVD video, etc.)

ANyone have any inof on what is in the works for a "Pluggable" FEH? I was told by my service manageer that Ford had something in the works and would release a retrofit kit for the '09's (perhaps others??) once in production. Are there any kits currently on the market to effect this??? Regards, |

I find it unbelievable that Ford would add an overdue feature such as Rollover Stability Control (RSC) and at the same time replace the rear disc brakes with drum brakes (this also has been done to the Non Hybrid Escape as well!). In reality no one should be using drum brakes in this day and age. Dose anyone at Ford know what they are doing and what the competition is doing???

Replying to: rhl (Nov 03, 2008 7:53 am) I don't think this was a change for the conventional Escape - it had rear drum brakes in 2008, but did have RSC. My 2008 FEH has 4 wheel discs, but no RSC. However, with the AWD I do not find this to be a problem. When I drove the 2008 FWD I thought it had a bit too much body roll. As to why this route was taken, the probable explanation is that Ford is having trouble integrating ABS into the hybrid system when combined with RSC and disc brakes. But that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Maybe drum brakes are cheaper, and they wanted to save costs by having both the conventional and hybrid Escapes use the same braking system. But my money is on some kind of technical reason. |

Replying to: rhl (Nov 03, 2008 7:53 am) our '04 non hybrid rear brakes still check out 'in the green' every service. i think they said they should be good for over 100k at the rate of wear. my wife wants a hybrid, but would like other interior color choices. |

I was wondering if a natural gas conversion would make sense for the 07 FEH? Such conversions have existed for a long time and I thought Progress Energy and the US Post Office had vehicles in the past. |
