1) Optional removable additional battery. A box, square, flat, vertical what ever that would sit in the cargo area to provide additional capacity. Naturally it should be user removable. 2) As an option, make the moon/sun roof be a solar cell so it can charge while you are at work/in the mall etc.

Got my wife an 08 Mariner hybrid. She loves it, but we both can't figure out why the gas version got the audio controls on the wheel and not on the hybrid?! Does anyone know if you could replace the steering wheel with one from the gas version--if there is a seperate wiring harness connection in the rear of the NAV radio? Expensive probably, but do-able? Not that I was driving beyond the road conditions it was one of those times when the road conditions were changing one moment to the next. So even with only one such instant I consider RSC as a must much like I consider studded snow tires a must for winter driving here in the Northeast.   I appreciate your comments on the FEH "tippiness" at slow speeds which makes me feel that RSC is really needed! You might want to test drive the 2008 to see for yourself. But I don't think RSC is an option for the 2008 FEH. It is standard equipment on the non-hybrid Escape.

However, compressor draws about 2kW to 7 kW depending on ambient conditions. This energy consumption is similar to the residential A/C for a medium house (1500~2000 sq. ft). For current available hybrid battery capacity nither Escape or Prius allow compressor to stay running without engine is on. why included in the Limited model but not included or offered in any of the available options or packages?   It can be purchased as an accessory however, and I assume it would work in the hybrid since it functions on the same signal as the hybrids remote keyless entry system.   And now, for the greatest of all changes----copy the technology of the upcoming Porshe Hybrid SUV power plant. You can run this baby as you wish on either gas or electric at your election and----as I understand it, the vehicle will cruise at 75MPH in ELECTRIC mode. It's supposed to be eerie traveling at 75MPH using electric only since you hear no gas engine high speed noise. Porshe refers to this experience as "sailing" Wouldn't it be fun to "sail" like this in a FEH?   rnarg

Changes:   Auto windows up/down with 2nd held push on unlock/lock button (had it on my VW passat, great in the summer or with a forgetful kid)   Longer seat bottom (I have long legs)   Better ergonomics on the door handle and door lock button   Add telescoping to the steering wheel adjustment   Full size spare! (I hate the small ones)   Power outlet in the rear bay area   Optional fan W/ controls for the rear seat passengers
