Just had my 5k maintenance yesterday. Oil changed and tires rotated. I complained about the thunk sound that comes from the back of the car when you step on the brakes. My car makes this sound only for the first couple of minutes, then it goes away. Service dept said it was normal behavior for the regenerative brakes. I don't buy it. Why would it make a sound like that, then go away? Also complained about the poor illumination distance on the low beam lights. They said the lights were correctly at the factory setting. Not exactly helpful.

Replying to: bmwconvert (Oct 19, 2006 10:55 am) I'm not up on the technicals around this, but I suppose it's plausible. If this is true, I assume everyone else's car exhibits the same behavior. Luckily it goes away quickly so isn't a distraction. On the low beam HID's, I'm waiting to hear back as to whether I can get them adjusted higher than the factory setting, which as you are all witnessing, is simply too low/short. |
