Opening Liftgate by shift

Even without using the remote fob and opening all doors including the liftgate using the driver's side unlocking button on the door, it still would not open.

I tried unlocking all doors from the remote this morning, anf if I pressed the liftgate handle twice, it opened.

The dealer replaced the liftgate switch, did not fix the problem. They said they have to contact Honda of America in Calif for assistance.

Cons and Pros leasing a car with local/remote dealer by dannyhashovav

Hello all,
i am considering leasing Pilot 09 EXL 4wd in the next week or so. Got couple of good quotes from New Jersey and Massachusetts that can be followed through (I live in NY, queens). I understand one can service a car in any Honda service station, but what are the cons and pros leasing a car from a remote dealer and saving maybe $20 to $30 in your monthly payment vs getting it near your home?
thnks

Hey,

Does anyone presently own an 09 w/either of these accessories. Do you favor one over the other, or is it just the look that you prefer. I cannot decide! Thanks
I would love to see a pic of an 09 with chrome side steps to make my final decision.

2009 Honda Pilot Performace by CanStacker

Hi everyone,

May I please ask if anyone has any comments about the 2009 Honda Pilot's cylinder deactivation and performance?

Can you feel the transition between running modes?

How's the power and acceleration?

I'm asking because that's the car, along with the Toyota Venza, that my wife has narrowed the choices down to. The reviews of the Pilot, while generally favorable, seem to think the car is a little underpowered.

She currently drives a 2007 Toyota RAV- 4 with the V6 engine, and it's very responsive.

Any comments would be much appreciated.

Thanks, CanStacker

On the whole, the system works well. I live in a very hilly area (Western PA) and therefore don't get too many opportunities to run extended distances on less than 6 cylinders.

Can you feel the transition between running modes?
Not at all. The only discernable difference is the amount of engine sound, fewer cylinders means less sound. Re-engagement of the additional cylinders when power is needed is very smooth.

How's the power and acceleration?
Power and acceleration are adequate. You're not going to be blown away by the power, but at the same time I don't find it lacking. My other car is a 265 hp Maxima and so I definitely notice the difference, but at the same time I don't feel like I'm mashing the pedal to the floor with no response.
