Yes, after I changer transmission fluid from FIRESTONE and the car driving about 500 mileage and message pops up check transmission, at the same the run only 40 miles only and RPM go too hight lets me driver so slowly on the freeway from redmond to seattle. I bring car to Firestone and tell them know about this problem and they toll me the Gear Ration 4 (P0734), Gear Ration (P0735) and (P0795) Pointing to a Broken Spring in valve body of transmission. I say my car before Run very well not thing wrong with transmission but after replace transmission fluid jut driving only 500 miles and got this problem. Now they toll me need to pay for transmission 1,400 dollar. this it so wear. Any one have i dear for me what can i do. Thanks

Hi all, purchased a 2004 in 2006 (14,000 miles ) unaware of the "pending" transmission issues. Back to the dealer with 25,000 miles to have the solenoid packs replaced but transmission still not right as it shifted hard from 1st to 2nd. Just hit 95,000 miles and the tranny is being rebuilt at a cost of $2700. Seems the torque converter, a band or two and some additional problems "surfaced".

At 95,000 miles??! The car is highway driven and well taken care of. And Detroit can't figure out why they're in trouble??! We are (were) a Ford family but no more. Looked at an Edge and a Mitsubishi Outlander for the wife, bought the Mitsu with the 10 year/100K mile bumper -to -bumper warranty. And you know what??! You never hear about Hondas dropping a transmission or losing an engine 95K!!

I'm done with American made cars, especially Ford. For those of you who have purchased an LS, be prepared. In addition to the transmission problems, there is the spark plug coil problems that will run you in the neighborhood of $600 to fix when THEY surface. That was last years problems....if I had known then what I was in for, the car would have been dumped on some dealer for a Honda/Lexus, etc.

WAKE UP AMERICAN CAR COMPANIES!! You are self destructing.

Oh really? Try recalls, class action lawsuits and continuing problems......

Interesting...sounds like the same problem Lincoln has with their transmissions. Any chance it's the same supplier?!

My friends '07 Civic had a cracked head and blew the engine. Honda did replace it for him. LS transmissions are usually pretty reliable. The coils, not so much.

You'll enjoy your Outlander. My '07's been a great car. So has my '05 LS.

Purchased in 2/2004 and has about 65000 miles. But so many problems in the last 3 years from transmission to coils to belts and now thermostat. I have never gone in for regular service (oil change etc.) and not come out without a big bill. I am seriously considering changing but being a retired widow, I need to be very careful about my next purchase.
