so - an update
They are not sure what is wrong w/ the car. It isn't the battery. There is a voltage leak/drain somewhere. They are on day 2 now of not being able to find it.

fun times.

I have this problem both with my 2003 GLS Elantra and my wife's 2007 Tuscon. I get by with my local driving which is only 15 minutes each way but I am dying on long trips. Height adjustment helps a little but doesn't work completely. I notice that the driver's seat bottom seems shorter than the passenger's. Too bad because the seat back with the lumbar adjustment is fine. My wife seems OK - but then she has more built in cushion. Don't let her know I said that !!!!!!!

Took them a while but they found that it was the light in the trunk. The connector was off somehow and the light was always on.

Battery is covered under warranty. And Hyundai does not make the battery. The OEM battery on my '05 dropped a cell at 18Kmiles and the dealer replaced it with an Interstate battery that had a Hyundai sticker applied. And apologized for the inconvenience. And and had me in and out in less than 30 minutes.

What more could I ask for? Sometimes a battery just croaks. Sort of like a hamster.

Those can be tricky to find. "Hey Leo, come over here and let me close you in the trunk to see if the light comes on. I'll let you back out. Promise."

clutch all the way to floor? 2007 elantra limited by scorp200

I've had my car for four days, and though I love the car, I really, really do not like the clutch. Now I wonder if something's wrong. I have to press it all the way to the floor to engage it; to the point where I've stalled out a couple of times. Does anyone experience this, or might something be wrong with it? It's actually really annoying to drive this way, I have to stretch my left leg out to get it to engage.

on my '99 Kia Sephia 5-speed manual I couldn't start the car one day. I had just purchased the car and was having a hard time getting it started. I thought that that was weird as the car was about 5 days old. I eventually got it started and drove to me dealer.

One of the service people came out and explained to me that I "had to have my clutch pedal completely pushed down to the floorboard when cranking the car over as it won't start if you don't."

It must've been dumb luck helping me to get the car started until I learned this. Once told that information it was easy starting it from then on. I remember it being kind of a left-leg workout for a few weeks until my leg was used to pushing the clutch pedal all the way to the floor when both starting the car and shifting it's gears.

Here is a list of my 07 Elantra issues by cruiser69

Hello all. Heres a list of some early production 07 Elantra issues i have had. Build date October 2006. Purchased Feb 2007. Speedometer error off by 5 miles per hour, drivers side seat track off track from factory, alignment off from factory, steering wheel off center, glove box rattle, passenger side dash vent creaking, all were fixed by Hyundai under factory warranty. Mystery rattle has developed behind glovebox so the quest is on to find it. Overall these are annoyances except for the speedometer but Hyundai did make good on it after consumer pressure and extended the warranty so i am happy with that.

So far everything else is going well after 18,000 miles. Switched to 100 percent synthetic motor oil and so far the engine is a bit quieter on startup in the colder weather so i highly recommend it.

Update: Got it fixed lickity split under warranty at the dealer. Good experience.
The foot rest might ve been cracked before I bought it. However they damaged or loosened the hood release during the repair. Had to go back next week to deal with that. They must like me there.
