#45 of 45 95 F250 front driver side brake not working

I discovered the problem when I noticed excessive wear on my front passenger tire. I couldn't see anything wrong with the ball and u joints so replaced the tire and when I rotated them noticed the left brake was not engaging. I just recently replaced the pads and the right side is working great. Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this
