Article comments for Full Test: 2007 Lexus LS 460 - The flagship of the fleet should be fashioned from an uncommon and uncompromised blend of technology and opulence. It should sport elements that distinguish it from the lesser vessels of the line, instill in its occupants an aura of invincibility and convey to the driver a lofty level of dynamic excellence, tempered but not tamed by a lush layer of luxury. I agree with the Edmund's reviewer about the lack of spice in the design. I went to the auto show expecting something really nice and expensive looking, only to be disappointed by the uninspired exterior. Why, even the new Toyota Avalon looks nicer.

The Edmund's reviewer mentioned the multi-adjustable seats but didn't mention the driver's seat is way too soft. A driver's seat must have some firmness, not just for adequate support but to help keep the driver alert. The LS driver's seat is more like a lounge chair for taking a snooze than for alert driving.

I am also surprised the Edmund's reviewer didn't mention the driver's foot well; much too narrow for comfort.

Given the uninspired design, the grabby brakes, the floaty suspension, overly cushy driver's seat and narrow driver's foot well, I must say the new LS460 assures Lexus once more of being at the bottom rung of the HELM ladder. It is an over-priced vehicle, given the faults mentioned above and its starting price, IMO, should be more in the order of $45k.

I totally agree with the tenor of the Edmund's review. This vehicle needs a lot of work to compete with the likes of Audi, BMW and, especially Mercedes Benz.

Lexus' latest LS effort is disappointing.

Lety's see now - ignore all of the glowing remarks such as Automobile's comment that this car is the new benchmark of HELM's, emphasize and grossly exxagerate comments made on a pre-market vehicle and then throw in your personal comments which are biased 99 out of 100 times. That's your mantra. Won't work over here.

I just went to see the LS Tuesday at a local dealer and it was the long wheel base. I must say I think it has potential to hang with the S, the 7, and the A8. It has enough advancements to hang with the big boys and since it does not cost quite as much you are still getting a great deal on a car that over the years has been proven to be more reliable than the Mercedes. My personal pick would be

Please stick to the topic. We are here to discuss Edmund's review.
We are not here to discuss Automobile's review. You want to do that, ask the host to open another thread to discuss that.

Grabby brakes, floaty suspension and a vehicle that doesn't measure up to the MB S-Class and BMW 7 Series were all assertions of the Edmund's reviewer.

I sat in the new LS and found the foot well disturbingly narrow, which other posters concur with and the driver's seat too soft for alert driving. I was surprised the Edmund's reviewer didn't mention these obvious things.

Funny, if the Edmund's review was glowing, would you be crying about the vehicle being pre-production?
Also, how would you know if what they tested was pre-production or not?

You seem to be living in a state of denial-ignoring all the mixed reviews, and there are many, and quoting the one or 2 good ones.

Also, unless Pat died and in her will made you her successor, don't tell me what will work here and what won't.
Get off your territorial high-horse. You don't own the Lexus forums.
