Article comments for Full Test: 2007 Lexus LS 460 - The flagship of the fleet should be fashioned from an uncommon and uncompromised blend of technology and opulence. It should sport elements that distinguish it from the lesser vessels of the line, instill in its occupants an aura of invincibility and convey to the driver a lofty level of dynamic excellence, tempered but not tamed by a lush layer of luxury. Naysayers and the Edmunds test drive... by oac

Could never find anything good about an LS hence jumping on anything negative... Many have not even driven the car, yet they conclude the brakes are grabby, the rear seats are not accomodating enough, and the suspension is mush...

I'd just ignore whatever these people posts when it comes to a Lexus... Now let's read from those who have actually test driven this vehicle, pls....

As to Edmund's drive, their conclusions are ridiculous, and totally expected.... Their first drive, the only thing they could find on the pre-production LS was "it could park itself"... puleaze....

Did Edmunds even remember to mention that the S550 they tested and raved about was a standard LWB trim, whereas the LS460 they tested and gave "not yet" rating was on the SWB ? I am sure they also didn't bother to compare the LS numbers with the S550, or did they ? Xero listed the numbers showing the LS is equal or better than the S550 in everyway reasonable owners are concerned with... not slalom, or 1/4-mile shtuff...

"Now let's read from those who have actually test driven this vehicle."

Well, several folks who already drove the new LS mentioned the poor driver's foot well area which made one of them angry enough to measure it with a tape measure.

As for the grabby brakes, several professional reviews mention this problem, not only Edmund's.

Sorry, these things are not what you wish to hear, but they do seem to be real issues.

For the luxury comparison, why not get the loaded version?

I mean, really, we want to hear about the auto-park!

I think the editors at edmunds are so bias that yall should be fired!! First, the redesigned Infiniti G came up short ot the 3 series, now you all saying that the new LS didn't win yall love. The bottom line is the new LS has everything you want in a luxury car for way less than the S550, over $10,000 less

C'mon guys. I'm not gonna call anyone biased, but is it true to say that no one has ever given the LS a fair chance. In your videos there's alot of hype about this magnificent automobile. You are right that it's no Mercedes nor BMW. Lexus has made a great improvement over the past generations with this car. Admit it. Give Kudos where its due. There's a reason why the LS outsells the others just like there's a reason why the Camry outsells others in its class too.

For some time I have always read that the A8, 7 Series, and S-class were the most direct competitors, and the LS and the Cadi were more direct competitors, because they did not have Long wheelbase versions, and probably price which would be my guess. The latter two vehicles were never quite as big as the former, but the LS is playing with the big boys now in the Ultra Lux department, I am not biased so all I can say is I can't wait for a full comparison. I have never heard any complaints about Lexus having any problems, but within the last two years I have heard about MB having a problem or two.
