Replying to: KarenS (Oct 19, 2006 5:19 am) After seeing the unique styling of the 2006 Aveo and taking in consideration paying about HALF of what it would have cost me for the Cobalt - I took the bait. I have to say, I love this little car. The MPG is outstanding. I love the roomy interior...even though it does't look roomy from the outside. I even compared the Aveo side by side online to the Hyundia Accent and KIA Rio before I gave the final "OK" at the dealership. The Aveo was a much better value. On the downside, and from what I've been reading on this site, I would have liked Chevy to install better tires and be rid of that annoying 'Passenger Side Airbag Disabled' when I am driving solo. |

| I'm 41 live in the midwest and inherited a 2004 Chevy Aveo from my father when he go too old to drive safely. I also purchased a 2007 Aveo in January of this year (2007) They are both sedans and both have been problem free. The 2004 has 63K and the only thing ever done was a bushing replacment the dealer took care of - that's it! The 2007 has 6K and no problems at all. Both cars average in the 28 to 34 MPG in city driving, well into the 30's on the highway. Wonder why your Aveo doesn't get good gas mileage? try keeping your foot out of it, drive it lightly, use the cruise control if you have it. It's not a sports car and thus not to be driven like one. It is reliable, basic transportation, not a hot rod or a sports car. I would recommend them to anyone. | |

I took delivery of a new 2007 Aveo Sedan RS Edition on May 01 2007 from Preston Chevrolet here in Vancouver BC Canada. Do they sell the RS package in USA? It's an AVEO LT with the RS added to it. RS package includes 15" alloy and tires, rear spoiler, ipod nano, 6 speaker stereo upgrade with steering wheel stereo controls, RS special badges on the front door panels. My car is a Misty Blue 5 speed. I drive about 90km per day. So far I've got almost 4,000km on the odo - all trouble free. I looked at the Yaris, Fit, Versa and decided to go with AVEO. No regrets - it has been a great car so far.

Replying to: cn7059 (Jul 21, 2007 3:53 pm) Do you mind me asking how much you paid for your AVEO LS Sedan with the 15" alloy wheels? The total price of my 2007 LT with RS package was $18,675 including destination charge and air con. tax, but not the PST and GST. I also received a discount on the $18,675 of $985 for a free slide/tilt sunroof. Oh and my car is a 5-speed, not an autostick. With all taxes included and the discount subtracted my AVEO RS was $21,297.76. I shopped all over the place. I used to have a 2001 Toyota Echo Coupe that I traded in for the Aveo. I compared the new 2007 Yaris Sedan by Toyota and added similar options to the Yaris Sedan and the total for the Yaris is an incredibly high $25,493.97 and a sunroof isn't even offered on the Yaris. So I went with the AVEO. |

I wanted a car with highest possible MPG at the lowest price and that is why I bought a Aveo. I drive it 170 miles day from my farm to the city where I work as a professional. The car now has 80,000 miles on it and climbing fast and I have had no issues what so ever and I get about 38-42 MPG which is all highway. I am hoping the car can go to 300,000 miles. I have not met any other Aveo owners with the amount of miles I have on mine. The only thing I did to it was change the front tires at 70,000 miles and the back ones are still going and of course change the oil every 3,000 miles and I have always ran the higher octane gas since it runs better and I get higher MPG. I believe the owners manual is off, it says to replace the spark plugs every 32,000 miles which I have not done yet and the car is running like a charm. I believe it should be 100,000 for plugs. Jay
