Ok here is the deal.. I was driving my 2002 JGC to Fl which is about a 5 hr drive from where I live. It is a lot of stopping and going. But after about 4 hours when we would get to a red light it was shaking bad when we were stopped. Now 2 weeks later it is still doing it. We thought maybe we had gotten bad gas. that wasnt the case. If you put it in N while stopped at a red light it is fine it doesnt shake. Also when you start to pull off from the light it hesitates. Please help me!! My malfunction light has been on and all of the sudden when I was just about to work on Monday, it was shaking badly and that light started blinking. I have had a mechanic look at it and he thinks its something with my computer. That sounds like an awfully costly job to fix. I'm wondering if it could be a sensor or something with the emissions. I need to fix this as soon as possible. I'm afraid to drive it and don't think I can get it back to my house as I work a half hour away from home. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Mine stopped in the middle of a 4 hour trip by the side of the highway though!    To the response from tuggajb, my fuses are straight, would the ignition switch kill the vehicle and the guages while running down the highway?   Thanks for any help all. Replying to: ihornsby (Jun 03, 2009 3:39 am) Ok, It ended up being a loose connection on the starter i guess, I took the starter off to be tested and it tested fine, i cleaned all connections and put the starter back on, its working fine.

Replying to: dlunge (Nov 26, 2007 7:20 pm) was looking at my haynes manual & i dont see a mat sensor, i found a map sensor which is located on the side right hand side of the throttle body (facing front of vehicle. do you have the inline 6 cylinder ? what manual do you have ? mine is 93 -04 haynes manual #50025

Replying to: sarwarrior (Nov 08, 2006 4:09 pm) did you check for fuel pressure ? you might have a vacuum leak also. try your plug gap .035 is whats recommended i think. refer to your label in front of the the radiator or call your local parts supplier for info.

Replying to: lewisj (Jun 02, 2009 6:36 pm) im having some similar problems with my 98 jgc, rough idle no codes. chased wires, replaced sensors. no codes. called a junk yard, told me 25 if i pull the part. skeptical about electrical parts from a junk yard though, but its my only choice. the pcm is on the firewall on the passenger side right ? could you tell me what it looks like ? my wife wants me to sell it but im not givin up on it yet ! i would like to solve this prob before i loose my mind. she doesnt know it yet, but if i can solve this puzzle, im givin it to her for her b-day. dazed & confused for now. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

have 94 jgcl drove down highway worked fine came home died hit the gas kept on going then it died again had to pull over and it started up fine got home went out to start next day nothing it turned over u can hear the pump and smell gas but nothing came out later started right up drove around ok then did same thing now its sitting in my driveway running .sumtimes it just turns over and nothing and other times as soon as i turn key it starts i dont lose any power cuz my radio works any help
