Well, we sure had our eyes opened. Yeah, the lemon law is there for you as long as you dont even use your car. Use the car and put on mileage and man you are stuck! And talk about trying to trade in a car, they will give you the blue book value, which right now is about 13K, but then if you want to get a new car, watch out...you will have to refinance the amount still owed plus the new car amount....so, needless to say we are negotiating a deal with GM to extend our warranty and we hope they will iron out the bugs in the next few months. We are still dealing with rough idle, and occasional remote start issues, but other than that, its an awesome car. But if anyone with a 2006 Malibu Maxx LTZ has any issues along these lines, please let me know. Robin

Replying to: rmill777 (Nov 06, 2007 12:24 pm) I have the same noise and I think, haven't attempted to resolve, the problem is a rubber strip on the trim piece at the bottom of the windshield. Mine has a gap where wind goes through. My 04 blue Maxx is great, problems with tire vibration through out it's existance but finally got it as good as it will get.

Replying to: jongram (Dec 13, 2007 7:54 am) Bad??? I see it as a badge of honor. I punch my Maxx at nearly every intersection. The pushrod engine doesn't seem to give me any less gas mileage as a result of driving it hard in town. There is plenty of torque steer, I assure you. I just have to watch it when punching it over painted crosswalks; acts just like ice!!

Hi, I'm a new owner of a 2006 Maxx LTZ, 27K. Have had other Malibus in the past, because I tow behind a motorhome. I chose the Maxx because of the neat style and utility. Had difficulty finding a Maxx since they are discontinue. Need advice please, Took Maxx in to Chev dealer for oil change and they told me that at 30k I needed to: 1. Flush the brake system. 2.Flush induction system. 3.Flush injectors and fuel rails. No where in the Maintance manual do the above items appear. Any advice would be appreciated. Replying to: tony321 (Jan 19, 2008 2:54 am) Like most preventative maintenance, what these procedures do is prevent you from retiring on time and putting your kids through college. Save your money. Are you planning on keeping the Maxx for 20 years? If so, the items you listed will certainly reduce corrosion caused by acids building up in the fluids and damaging the systems they are designed to lubricate and protect. Most people keep their cars for less than 5 years. For those, no preventative maintenance should be done other than oil changes and one coolant change (for non-Dexcool cars). For those of us keeping them 10 years, simply follow the manufacture's recommendations and you'll be fine.

Replying to: tony321 (Jan 19, 2008 2:54 am) agree with maxx4me...simply followed your scheduled maintenance...116K on my 04 Maxx and nothing but scheduled maintenace from the manual...most major work done at 100k, less tires and brakes.....had my brake system flushed at the second brake job....around 112K.......if you are using a top quality gasoline regularly, you should have no need to flush the fuel system or injectors...
