In order to be competitive in today’s market Buick needed to make changes, and they did. I just purchased a Buick Lucerne, and love it! I am in my early 20's and the average Buick owner is in their late 60’s. I know I am the extreme in Buick owners. However, the Lucerne was everything that I was looking for. I wanted a luxury, American made, front wheel drive sedan. I had two choices, the Lucerne or Zephyr. I thought the Lucerne was more appealing so I bought that car. I know that I made the right choice. Chris

Like the first message, I too am driving my 3rd Buick. Following a Century and a LeSabre. My Lucerne is not your typical Grandma car and that's what I love about it (I got the V-8).I love the power when I need it in Dallas traffic and the gentle roar she makes when I start her. I affectionately call her "Ruby" hence my blog title.I'm totally comvinced Buicks ARE the best-built America cars and now I know why my Father drove them. |

I did look at the Toyota Avalon and actually rented one for a trip. Not enough headroom, video game radio display and an engine that was always upshifting/downshifting. The Avalon does have power at the top end but not where you need it for daily driving IMHO. Ultimately I decided to go with the Lucerne. Hopefully this car will not be a |

Hello all I just bought a new 2006 Lucerne CX. Was in the market for a sedan with a wide rear seat to accommodate 3 car seats, kid #3 on the way Aug 1. Didn't think I had a chance of affording a new Buick until GM upped their rebate on 2006 Lucernes to $4,000 and I found a local dealer with about 7 2006s on his lot. This is my 4th Buick: 1978 Century 1986 Skyhawk 1992 Century Kept the 78 about 15 years, kept the Skyhawk for 18 years and now willd need to sell the 1992 Century. Our other car is 2004 Aztek which is a perfect car for taking the kids to the beach and park here in Honolulu. Aloha |

My Lucerne is garbage. From day one, it has been back to the dealer so many times it probably has its own dedicated service bay. After 30 years of owning Buicks, this is my last. My next vehicle will be a Lexus, if they will take this piece of junk as a trade.

Replying to: KarenS (Oct 18, 2006 11:07 am) I bought an ’07 CXL in November. It had 11,000 miles on it. It now has 32,000. Had a terrible time with the drivers seat. Dealer restuffed it TWICE. It was so uncomfortable I met with the Buick field rep hoping to have a completely assembled seat installed. They do not make them. A friend gave me a Homedics cushion which has made all the difference. I traded in a never-quit Camry for the Buick. Technically, a step way down. For comfort, a step up. I had a Pontiac Bonneville before the Camry it was the most comfortable car I have ever owned. I like the Buick. During the seat crisis I looked at other land yachts, but none felt as well built, including Cadillac. I giant Lexus or Mercedes is way out of my budget. Gas at $4 is freaking me out at 23 mpg. jg585 |
