Thanks for the reply. Do your buttons get warm at all? I'm wondering if some heat is expected. I actually wondered if this was part of the cold weather package (heated seats....heated steering wheel?) but the buttons heat up all the time.
I will contact the dealer and post their reply.
cheers,
Dave

Not a prob. No, I've not noticed the buttons getting warm at all on my car. If you've got heated seats, turn the heat off and see if the buttons still get warm. If they heat up either way, I'd say there's a problem. I don't have the cold weather package (not much call for it in Atlanta), but I don't recall seeing a heated steering wheel as part of the package. Could be wrong though...

I spoke with the dealer and think the "heated steering wheel" is NOT part of the cold weather package (heh heh), so I made an appointment for Friday. Snif, snif....what's that smell? I'll post the results after the appointment.
cheers,
Dave

I am currently driving a 2002 S40, I do not have the convenience of having a controls on my steering wheel but my radio often gets over heated to the point of when i touch it, it gets extremely warm and eventually the mini screen shuts off. Ive always wondered why it gets so warm, but being that its a volvo there are often minor, odd problems. My car is also terrible in the snow, and winter mode often breaks, haha.
