Replying to: medinamalibu (May 11, 2009 12:13 pm) I used to keep my shades closed 24/7 during summer. After they were replaced a second time under warranty I no longer close them. The constant tension on the springs cause them to fail when you open them after that long.   I'm surprised they are not covered under GMPP Major Guard. I don't see what category of non-covered parts this would fall under.   You might want to call the GMPP and ask them if it is a covered part. It is possible that the defroster grids could be scratched when cleaning the inside of the back glass. Just a suggestion to help you find an answer. Replying to: sgr5516 (May 13, 2009 11:50 am) Go to an auto recycler. The part may be cheaper than retail. Rip it out your self and it will be even cheaper. Have the dealer install it for you. Our first maxx was in a front end collision, after taking out our contents, the first thing i stripped off the car was that shade. Find an U pull yard an go nuts..
