#253 of 372 Fan stays on after the key is out
by ddingeman

I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty with 56K and the fan stays on after the car is turned off and the key is out of the ignition so I have to ensure that before exiting the vehical that the fan is in the off position if not I have a dead battery. I own other jeep/chrysler products and the fan will only run if the key is in the ignition and in the on position no matter what.
Any Idea's?

Only thing I can think of to do is go to the Power Distribution Center. There you'll find the heater blower motor relay, and also a spare relay of the same type next to it. If you could switch out the 2 relays---see if that cures the problem.
#255 of 372 Gauges zero out when air is on.

I've had my 2003 Jeep Liberty for about three years now. Shortly after I got it the speedometer would drop to zero and then return to normal. I brought it back to dealership twice and both times they told me nothing was wrong with it. Now the the speedometer doesn't work at all. When the air is on the doors won't lock automatically and the temp, RPM, and gas gauge all drop to zero until I turn the air off. Odometer also doesn't work when the air is going. What is going on?

I have an 04 jeep liberty and am experiencing the same problem. The headlights and all interior lights blink off and on quickly, I also hear clicking noises while this ocurs, as I am driving. I too noticed it usually happens when it's cold out. Maybe the weather has something to do with it??? I noticed someone had mentioned their problem stopped after not using their highbeams, I have not used them in a long time, I know that is not the problem for my situation. I am looking for a solution as well, if anyone finds out anything please pass the word!
Thx
#258 of 372 problem with battery/starting/alternator?
by orangecamper

I have a 2005 Libby Sport, no mods (yet!). I went out yesterday morning, wouldn't start, just fast ticking noise. All the light come on, no problem lights on the console. I charged the battery, started right up, ran fine. No signs that I would take as alternator going out. Left it a couple of hours, started a little slow. Got up this morning, same thing. Interior lights come on, but when I try to start, it just ticks.
Any ideas what it could be?
Thank you!!!

Are the interior lights dim after it sits? Sounds like something is drawing current while its sitting and draining the battery.

We have the same problem with our '02 Liberty. For us, the thing that always makes the light go out is to activate the turn signal (doesn't matter which direction). Our dealer has been no help either, so if you do discover a solution, I would love to hear about it.
