Zahdock, recommend you post at the "Chevrolet/Geo Metro" forum. There are plenty of fellow Metro owners there that could answer your question. Me - I own a '98 Chevy Metro ('98 was the year they changed from Geo to Chevy). Bought it almost two years ago with only 28,200 miles on it and paid $2,995, which honestly was still a bit high, but couldn't pass up the low mileage. I would still say $2,300 is a bit high, but again, recommend you post on the Chevrolet/Geo Metro Forum.

Hey zahdock, $2300 for a Geo with that few miles is a good buy. I get 66mpg in summer with mine. I am looking for a set of 13" aluminum rims for my 92 Metro.

I have a 1993 Geo Metro XFI 5sp manual hatchback that I bought brand new back in Aug1993. Currently has 132,000 miles and still runs like a champ. 3cyl that still gets 40plus mpg. Change oil about every 4000 miles. Mostly highway commute miles here in the golden state. Paid about $8,500 for it brand new. No complaints. Hard to believe you found a 1992 with less than 30,000 miles. If it's the original engine & miles, great car to pick-up if you're looking for a daily commuter and or need to conserve on gas. You might should try to negotiate for something less than $3K. You can buy a brand new Chevy Aveo for about $7,500 which will get you 33mpg.

remember GEO'S odometer goes to zero at 100K so that car is very much 130K or even 230K miles and it is not worth more than 1200 to 15oo$ max,I own 1991 with new Japanese ENG new clutch, alternator bot C.V shaft new I put it today a good used Tranny, new wind shield, new battery, brand new brakes all way around ( new calipers wheel cylinder ,shoe's,pads, brake hoses, rotor, drum ,all less than a year old)all new wheel bearing, and all four struts 250$, window regulator, head light switch all radiator hose, new heater core two years ago, turn signal switch, and lot more I can not even remember, and I know I can not get 15oo$ for it but it is for pizza delivery and never once let me down, while every one else with newer car had problem every so often!!!!!!!!!! oil changed every 3000to 4000 miles but I did not paid a penny for labor.did it all myself,so there is my money saving, and 66 MPG is just lie,and impossible you can get 33 to 37 mpg in town and 40 to may be 45 on high way

My 92 Metro XFI got 62.6 mpg on a 500 mile trip, at speeds of 55 mph or so; it is from California. With A/C on occasionally, in city driving, it gets 49-50 mpg.

LOOKING FOR INPUT ON THIS,PRICE,ETC... THANK YOU
SAYS 77749 MILES ON SPEEDO AND IT WORKS

you better do a car fax. it most likely has 128k on it the odo has 5 digits not six. most cars that old have turned to odo over. a car fax just may tell you that. watch out for rusting out the front end suspension parts. they are the weak points of the car for those years.

if it is a 3 cyl of witch i believe it is the egr valve causes the #3 cylinder to burn the exhaust valve. unless your a mechanic pass it up. he most likely has doctored it up a bit to sell it. if he is a friend and you get it he won't be your friend any more.
