How do you like the stock Firehawks? by mike9476

We just took our HHR home last night. It is a Silver LT2 with leather. Nice car. I was doing some research online about the stock firehawks, and saw a lot of complaints on other cars. Have any of you had experience in rain or light snow with the Firehawk GTAs that come on the HHR? If so, let me know what you think.

I can't comment personaly on the tires as I only had them on a couple weeks before I put winter tires on. Generaly speaking I haven't heard of any complaints about them from HHR owners except for a couple that were looking for an excuse to change tires/wheels anyway . In general again, I think people are happy with the winter performance with the vehicle (not tire specific), but of course they are new enough that tire wear hasn't come into play yet.

Plowed through 2 4-7 inch snow storms in KC area back in December....we were real happy with how it got around....Firehawks-Traction Control & Anti-Locks all worked well....sometimes during the snow driving the anti locks would make a strange sound ...but since neither one of us has ever had anti locks before....maybe it's not that unusual....kids both have anti locks & said their's do under those conditions also.

Thats the brakes doing their job. the brake fluid is being pressurized on and off at a very high rate of speed to keep the tires from locking up.
