I had to take a large hit myself but it was well worth it. I'm loving my CRV. Good luck no matter what you do.

just got my car back from the service dept after they replaced the same module two different times because that's what their computer said was wrong with it...the third time it didn't start- i took it back parked it in front of their overhead service door , i demanded a loaner car and told them to keep my car until it was fixed the way it should be and they weren't getting their loaner back until I could trust my car to start every time. I asked them three times to check the battery for me and they kept saying that the computer said the battery was ok and that's not what was wrong with the car. they finally checked it this morning after my car wouldn't start for them and hmmmm guess what !!! they battery was bad! jerks! time for a new service center ---not a new car!

I am glad you have that resolved.
There are a lot of STUPID dealerships out there no matter what you drive,
whenever in doubt try another.I realize that's easier said then done in
some geographical circumstances but your peace of mind and safety
come first a second opinion is always a plus.

I have a 2007 Caliber, I purchased my car in October of 2007. Every couple days when I first start my car, I put it into gear and press the gas pedal and nothing happens. The RPMs don't go up, the car doesn't move at all and twice it has completely stalled out on me, and it's an AUTOMATIC. I called the dealer and they said to "let it warm up for a few minutes", that didn't help. The other day I was making a left turn out of a parking lot, the car did fine when I backed out of the parking space and when I drove up to the stop sign, as soon as I tried to accelerate the same thing happened, nothing! So here I was, sitting in the middle of the road on top of the yellow lines, barely rolling with traffic coming at me from both directions, horns honking, breaks squealing, etc. The car was only moving at all because it was rolling in idle. I pushed the gas pedal all the way down, I pumped the gas pedal and nothing happened. I continued to roll for about 100 yards and finally after continuing to pump the gas pedal, it worked and the car took off. So after almost getting creamed in the middle of the road I took it to the dealer and dropped it off. I just got off the phone with them a few minutes ago because I called to check on it and they said "we couldn't find anything wrong with it, there's no warning lights on, and the computer doesn't find any problems. But we're going to let it cool down and check it again later". They said they were going to check the Electronic Throttle Control, so who knows........Does anyone have any suggestions??

Scooby
I had the same issues and all the dealer would say "we can't duplicate the issue/problem". I got so tired of it. Like I told the other people in this forum... bite the bullet and bail out while you can. Trade that car in for another car. The Caliber is a nice looking car however, it has so many flaws. Chrysler/Dodge won't buy back your car... especially now that they are begging for money, no matter how much you write them, no matter how much proof you have, no matter how much you beg. They don't care about their customers all they care about is getting money. I really how you start seeing the light when it comes to making the correct decision. Good Luck

I have a 2008 caliber RT that also stalls. So far it stalls only at idle, like at a stop sign, or waiting to turn at an interesction. The dealer says also they can't duplicate it. But it happens so inconsistently. Doesn't the car have an internal computer that records these things so the dealer can review them? The dealer is able to tell customers there's nothing wrong & be done with it? It doesn't make sense.

I owned a 2007 caliber & it stalled 10 days after driving it off the lot. I actually had the "electronic throttle control" warning on my dash. When i took it back to dealership they said it needed a "software update". I drove it 4 a year after that & never had the problem again.

Ok I am new at this whole Caliber is a POS thing, I have had this problem since Nov 08 and my car is actually in the shop as we speak..again!!! Last time it was in the shop (just last week we got it out) it was in there for 13 days and they said they weren't sure if they had it fixed or not, they put in a new computer and basically said "here you go, good luck" Thankfully we bought extended warranty but my car is not fixed after 5 times being in the shop for the same reason. They are saying they can't get it to "act up" for them, I think they are full of BS. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do now, I don't think its fair to rerun my credit to get another car, I am seriously looking into Lemon Laws. Has anyone tried already? If so, any results?

sounds like ur lemon is having the same issues as mine was. I had several "no starts" but it would go with a boost. They eventually had 2 replace my battery & thanx 2 an awesum mechanic at the dealership who took my car home 4 a night, he found the problem !!! it was the heater blower module. even when the car was shut off it was still drawing power; thus draining my battery every time i parked it.
