Replying to: mjbro4 (Jan 13, 2009 4:37 am) Alldata says it's a ZF 5HP 19 (build date 3/00 to 6/00) This trans would have the ID # A5S 325 Z The GM 5L40E looks to be the earlier unit. So if ALLDATA is correct 3/00 is the cut-off date. I'd guess most 323s are indeed the GM 5L40E, but not yours, which is a fairly late build date.
