kimputer: vibration problem is fixed. what a difference. my dealer ordered muzzled bracket, and intake manifold. called me two days later that parts came in, and would take about 2 hours to install. waited at dealer for the repair, which took about what they said. seems the bracket was designed to be built in to the car at the factory, but was left out by accident on the assembly line. your missing that bracket and intake manifold. he showed me the parts before installing, consisting of two pieces with a bunch of screws and nuts. tell your dealer to look up on computer. drives much more like a Lincoln now. lance

Lance: I also own a 2008 Lincoln MKZ which I purchased in July 2008. I have the same problem that you experienced. I would like to go armed with the right information when I take my car to the dealer. Do you know if there is a TSB published and what the TSB number is? Can you provide me with the part numbers that the dealer ordered and installed in your car to remedy the problem. I would appreciate any help you can provide me.

rick: i am on vacation and have no info with me. the best thing for you to do, is to call RHEA FORD in MONTICELLO NEW YORK and ask for BRIAN in the parts department. he found the TSB# and ordered the parts. he will remember the problem for sure, and will give you the info you need. let me know when you resolve the problem. lance

Hi all,
I finally found the TSB and brought my car into the dealership with the TSB. It's finally fixed! What a difference. Now it truly drives like a Lincoln should. Now if they could only figure out what's wrong with the trans...

Kimputer,
Would you be so kind as to post the TSB # just in case anyone else is in need. Also, just curious as to what is going on with your trans?

I purchased a 2006 Zephyr on August 1, 2006. It has been flawless. Regular service with semi-synthetic oil and a change of plugs 95,000. Car has over 115,000 miles now. Waiting for the 2010's. Hope they will be as reliable

Glad to see your post. I too drive a lot of miles - 134,000 on an 06 Avalon - & I'm looking forward to taking a close look at the 10 MKZ. The Avalon has been dead reliable; 0 expense other than routine maintenance; but I believe the Ford product will be a better driving car.
Can you tell me what kind of mileage the MKZ has been giving you?

I have a 2008 FWD MKZ. With city driving the onboard computer tells me 23.4mpg. My city driving is a mix of some interstate and city. On all interstate trips I'm getting around 28mpg.

In some cases, TSB 09-7-4 supersedes TSB 08-12-5.
I was told that I needed repairs from TSB 09-7-4.
