Tribeca Arm Rests by slance66

We just bought an almost new demo 2007 Tribeca. I like almost everything about it so far, and the build quality and fit an finish are quite a bit above the competition.

My wife drives this car and has one major complaint, the arm rest on both sides is useless. Here arms (and mine when I drive) don't even get anywhere close to the arm rests. What the hell was Subaru doing and does anybody have any suggestions on fixes? I fear that driving this car may lead to a lot of fatigue as a result.

You're quite right. After driving vehicles where I could always rest my elbows with my hands on the wheel- in the 'beca I cannot. It was almost a deal breaker for me, but there was still no other car I wanted more.

Strangely- after a year of ownership, I kinda' forgot all about this difference.

Think of the extra 'strength training' that you'll get

Nothing looks better than black. Go for it.
You'll enjoy washing it as looks so beautiful when it's clean.

Cars are an emotional purchase, not a practical one. Go with what makes you happy. You won't regret it.

I've got the titanium silver. Hides the dirt well, but frankly- it doesn't look nearly as sharp as the Black.

Backup or Reverse Assist Sensors by irollit

To anyone who has the Backup Sensors on their Tribeca:

How exactly do these sensors work? How close would the object have to be before it makes a sound? It seems like it would make a sound every time in a parking lot when backing up.

It wouldn't help me if it went off every time I put my vehicle in reverse. I would expect it to really alert me to an object I could not see in my mirrors.

I am not fond of high pitched sounds. Is the sound annoying? I read that there is more than one sound option on these. Are they both high pitched? Is there a sound level adjustment?

They will be available late summer for the 2009 Forester. I was told it will be the same as the ones installed on the Tribeca before the backup camera was available.

I have an aftermarket system on my 06 Tribeca so it may be a little different to the factory system. it starts beeping at maybe 4 feet from an object. the sound has to be distinctive and loud enough or you end up ignoring it.

Thank you for that information. The parts dept. told me 20 feet away. That seemed too far to be even noticed when I really needed it.

Does anyone else have the Subaru reverse sensors? If so, please read the first post.

Assume you had it installed by a dealer, what was the cost?

Thanks
