I'm coming off a G35x 39 month lease that had a Nav system. It was a love/hate relationship from the start. It was DVD based, updated twice, and the never ending frustration of the lockouts has me questioning whether to go into another Infinit lease. I'm looking at the EX. Is the NAV system, with it's lockouts, still as frustrating as ever? Has anyone heard if Infiniti will unlock their NAV system for use while driving? Thanks, Alan

Good - didn't strip all the extra voice commands out of my 07 compared to what the 08 has Bad - didn't update gracenotes and there are roads in a major city (dallas) that have existed for at least 5 years that still aren't on the maps. |

They have a disclaimer as well, then they lock you out of almost all usage while moving. Pretty much all the functions are locked out or severely limited, in one way or the other, during any type of vehicle movement. If you have addresses saved, only the first few addresses wiill be available to you, during driving. The other addresses won't be avaialble unless you are ata a full stop. During movement, one can't search for new routes, one can not search for a new address, (change your mind while on a highway, for example, to go somewhere else) or even search for an ATM or a gas station. You can't even start to your initial destination without having the GPS system programmed with your first destination IN FULL. What a pain. One CAN check ones gas mileage while moving and one CAN get a detour route while driving, so I guess the idiots who programmed this system figured, if you are under stress because of bumper to bumper traffic, THEN IT IS OK to use the GPS system. Small minds. I had my heart set on an Infiniti EX, when my lease is up in July, but I guess I'll look at the Acura series of cars. Their GPS system does not have any lockouts that I am aware of. Good luck! |

I don't want to depend on some after market device to bypass this, and to have to rip the unit apart to install it. |

I am having trouble deleting a name or changing the voice command for an already stored item in the phonebook. Also, I put the wrong phone number in and now can't change. Does anyone know how to do this? It should be simple (and probably is) but I can't figure it out Thanks in advance
