I am headed back for the 3rd service this month and have only had my new car for 3 months. My 2007 Pacifica shakes and shudders between 25 and 40 miles and thuds when I put it into gear. I had wondered if I had put the wrong kind of gas in it or if it was just "breaking in." It is a miserable drive and just feels as if the transmission is going to drop in the middle of the road. Also, interstate ramps become scary because it always rears its ugly head when I am getting on or getting off. Thanks so much for your postings and for helping me understand what is going on. Will let you know what happens after this but I have had enough. Thirty grand is just too much money to throw at a vehicle that drives like a old jalopy. I really love the look and the seating but I'm done with the drive! Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The service tec. noticed there was a TSB on the transmission. He reprogramed the PCM or the TCM I am not sure which. That took care of the problem! The computer takes a while to retrain it's self and then it runs just fine. We are at about 5,700 miles now and we got the Pacifica Touring AWD Aug. 31. What is amazing to us is the mpg! 22 loaclly and 24 to 25 on a trip! That's better than the Compass we traded in on the Pacifica. As I understand the Pacifica 2008 will be the last for the Pacifica's. Perhaps as early as early as dec.31. It might be that Chrysler might make the new mini van the JOURNEY in Windsor. The Journey is a smaller van on the Avenger platform, and has 3 or 4 mor inches on the wheel base. I saw it in AUTO WEEK, I tink. The Journey is due out in mid 2008 as a 2009. Oh well there is a nother rabbit I chased. I would try a different dealer if the dealer you are using has not been able to help you. Hope this helps ya. farout |
