I too have a 2007 pac touring, 4L, 6sp. The vehicle has had the tourque converter
replaced once. It has been flashed 3 times, had a strut replaced and a motor mount
replaced. It drives considerably better than it did except for rough shifts and a very
low frequency rumble occasionally. All of the work was done at 10,000 miles. My car
shifts gears very quickly and I am in 5th gear before I get to 30mph. I mentioned this
at two dealerships, and neither showed any interest. I have driven the car another
5000 miles including a trip in the Rocky Mountains. I intend to keep driving until
something major happens. I bought the extended max warranty on this vehicle, so
when and if it truly is junk as I suspect, they'll be fixing it for many years to come.

I took my PAC again to the shop but this time the guys from chrysler told me to drop the car by 8 Am that the regional will be there, o.k I was there at 8 Am and he did not show that day I wanted to be there to go for the test drive with them because I did not want to heard we could "not duplicate the problem" after two days the guy finally got there and told me that he could not find nothing wrong but he order to change engine mounts (second set in one year) insulators? and quick learn for the transmission and said it shifts much better, but it still the same of course you feel it less but still there, also the front right noise was not duplicated and it bother me a lot is not very loud but is there.
they told me that they will contact me to give me a proposal but it has been one week and nothing happened

I wish you all the best. I believe that I wrote a total of ;five (5) letters to various people at Chrysler and the only response that I ever received was a phone call from an unidentified woman after I wrote to the vice president of North American sales telling me that they intended to do nothing because I had filed for arbitration.
 
Is it any wonder that the Big 3 are in trouble. Thirty years ago I was at a party in Detroit and I was tallking to a just retired GM executive. He made it extremely clear that GM was in serious trouble and if they did not change their management and their flawed management policies they would get in deeper and deeper. Well!
 
Years ago I had a problem with a Ford Ranger. After three trips to the dealer and a phone call from my attorney, I received a refund. That sure isn't the way that it works now.

faschultz: I hope this brings some encouragement to you, at least that's my intention.
 
Chrysler moves what seems slow to us, but the Zone Rep has certian ways that Chrysler LLC. requires. Be patient. Nothing screws up people more than getting angery or making demands that puts the Zone Rep in a box. I personally have had a 1006 Dodge Caravan and a 2005 Jeep Liberty CDR (diesel) bought back by Chrysler, so I know what I am talking about.
 
Here is my opinion on what I would do If I were in your shoes. I would call your Service manager and tell him what it is you want. If you want the PAC fixed or bought back or just what it is you want/. Then ask the Service manager to call the Zone Rep what it is you want. Then call the General manager of the dealership and tell him that there hsa been some issues and the Zone Rep was going to get back to yoy and some how communication has either dropped or he is swamped with work, and ask for the G. M. to help you.
 
Make sure you have all your repairs and trips to the dealership documented so you have a accurate record, and can prove your issues. The records are vital for you to win your points!
 
Your attitude is everything! Keep your cool, do not let anger blow your case, that's what screws up more cases. Give positive praise for anyone who is helping you, say that you appreciate their help often. Remember there are stupid jerks that make threats all the time, and slam insults left and right at those who could be of help. Most of the time people are really suprised to find someone who is kind and just treating them as people just tike you. Kindness is priceless, praise is like a raise, especially if you let their boss know how helpful or thoughtful the worker was to you.
 
DO NOT GO TO ARBITRATION, OR THE LEMON LAW. These avenues are not in your favor, and you are on the defensive, but Chrysler then becomes the attacker. Chrysler has full time Attornies that deal with these kind of issues where they have to defend why you should get as little as possible...you never come out ahead.
 
Chrysler now has their 1800-992-1997 Customer Care line answered by people in INDIA! You can call that, but tell them you want to have someone who can help you with what you want, and demand you speak with someone in the USA. This too might take a day or two as well.
 
My Jeep Buy back started Feb. 16,2007 and was dome by April 4, 2007. It does take time.
 
I too have had the transmission shuddering problem. They have done a TC replacement and two reflashes after that. Mostly the shudder is gone, but in tempatures below 25 F. it does seem noticeable. My dealer is looking at it on Dec 30, 2008. So I too will see if a new reflash might do the trick.

rhollis: I really have sympathy for what you you experienced with Chrysler. I am sure you felt really dumped on and let down. However, you went what you felt was the best way, or maybe the only way you could go. But......there are better ways, if the dealer is supportive and wants to help. I kinda think your dealer was just ignoring the problems. Am I right?
 
By what I have gathered you did get a new vehicle eventually? I encourage those with a supportive dealership to use that to the best advantage they can. I believe that's the best way to go, conditions permiting that is.
 
I am in hopes your new vehicle is much more to your liking.

I called the 1-800-992-1997 Chrysler number 6 times inside of a month. Sure, they are apologetic, sincere, and make it seem like they are really concerned, but they are all reading some kind of cue card or something. No D.M., or any mananger for that matter, has ever called me back at all. I was told by one of the customer service agents to call the dealership, and the G.M. there could get a hold of him faster for me. So I called the G.M. only to be told that the D.M.'s spot has been eliminated - as well as the service department rep's position. ALL my messages were sent somewhere alright! Trouble is, no one is ever going to get them. Everyone else at Chrysler is afraid now to recommend spending any money on anything for fear of losing their jobs! The dealership that sold me my PAC is getting no support from Chrysler at all - service department or otherwise - to assist me with my problems. All you efforts may have been rewarded at the time you had your issues, but I'm afraid my luck has simply run out. Unfortunately for me, Chrysler is worried more about being "bailed out" than to help someone who has had a ongoing problem with their product for over a year now. This is extremely sad! One thing I can say - Hats of to the new service manager at the selling dealership! He offered to work on my PAC like it was his own, and he did exactly that. He accomplished more with that car in 24 hours than any other tech or shop accomplished in the past year. Almost all of the pulling to the right is gone, and he went the extra mile - WITHOUT much Chrysler help - for me. I don't know what he did to make it steer straighter, but it just does. Enough to be able to live with the car for a while, anyway. But when I am able, I will probably just trade out of it - and I doubt it will be another Chrysler product!

I went to four different dealers - the car was taken to one of them by a Chrysler attorney, who neglected to tell them what they were supposed to be addressing. At any rate, it is over and done with. Simply a bad experience. It is no wonder that the Big Three are in trouble. They simply do not care.

thanks for your response, for me the last time i spoke with Chrysler before my last visit I told them that I wanted a buy back or replace my car with a good one and they told me that in order to do so I had to send the white paper that is in the lemon law book, after that they contact me and make me bring the car to the shop they show at the second day and say that everything was o.k but order to change engine mounts, insulators and re flash to the transmission, I guess was not all o.k if he did so, and put in the record now the car shifts a lot better.
with the new mounts the shudder feels less but still there and the stop and go kick back from the transmission still there. the service advisor told me that Chrysler is about to call me and give me some offer, I've been waiting and nothing I'm calling them today to know wat to do.

My thoughts? I believe that in 2007, when the PAC received the 4.0 L V-6 engine and 6-speed transmission, not enough was done to properly mate the drivetrain to the vehicle itself. From 2006 on back, the PAC had the 3.5 L V-6 with the 4-speed transmission, and there were far fewer drivablity issues such as the ones we are all experiencing. The 4.0 L engine has way more torque than the previous 3.5 L, and of course the 4-speed transmission is geared differently than the 6-speed. Obviously, the motor mounts and isolators on the 4.0 L engine are not up to the task of holding the motor steady during acceleration or hard braking. On my 07 PAC, the firewall insulation directly behind the motor has been rubbed raw by constant contact with the motor cover - an occurence that definitely should not be happening! That is just way too much motor movement. The whole drivetrain is bending around quite a bit to allow that to happen. I have had the motor mounts replaced already, and I bet it won't be long until they need to be replaced again with that much movement under the hood. It also would help explain the need to keep "reflashing" transmission control modules so that the transmissions shift more smoothly. I also believe that something changed right around the first of 2007. A lot of 07 PACs with build dates before 1/07 aren't experiencing as much problems as the ones built after 1/07. My wifes was built in 10/06, and it is quieter, shifts smoother, and rides better than mine built in 2/07. I notice many insulation panels on hers that are not on mine (strut tower covers, underbody insulation, factory undercoat) and I have checked other PACs with similar build dates and find the same occurence. Anyone else have any thoughts on these issues?

bulldozer: You may have something in what you say. My Pac is a Touring AWD and built in 12/12/06 and mounts and the rubbing you have experienced. The only problem we have had is the TC replacement, and a few reflashes, One thing you might find odd is the 2008 PAC was mode from 7/07 to 12/07. There is 2,500 still unsold in dealers lots. This is according to www.allpar.com/ which has a current list of inventory and sales for the year and month. Allpar.com/ has the best web site that I have found for Chrysler LLC information.
 
How many miles do you have on your PAC, we have 29,600 miles. The odd thing is with the winter cold we have lost a few mpg's the worst we have gotten now is 18.5 and that is warming up the PAC so it's comfy to get in. We really like the heated seats. The one thing I am not inpressed with is the defroster, it is not the best we have ever had. However the rest of the PAC is great for us.
 
I sure hope you can get it worked out or a bought back.
