How come nobody has asked for better lighting on the gauges? Can others read the gauges when the lights are on "auto" and you are heading into the sun or wearing sunglasses or both? Is there an available fix for this? Is that why it is not being mentioned here in this blog?

Replying to: jg585 (Jun 17, 2008 5:32 pm) I have the bench 40-20-40 seats (without leather) We have been happy with those Suppose there is a connection between the floor shift and the instrument lighting? I also have the shift lever on the steering column the way god intended |

| Have a '09 Lucerne with 6 passenger seating. Gear shift on steering column. When it is in drive, the gear shift blocks out part of the radio display and also the fav, info and the menu button. You have to lean over to see them if you want to use them or try to feel for them. Either way, it is a safety concern. You have to take your eye off the road too long. The only safe way would be to stop the car, put it in park and use them, unless there is a passenger that can do it, which in my case, there usually is not. Another thing about the display on the radio. I have xm radio. When it displays the artist or the song title, many times they are to long to display the entire name or song and is therefore cut off. I would think that would be an easy fix, like change the font or something like that. | |

Our 2007 Lucerne CXS had its badging replaced by "Wildcat" emblems from the 1964 model (large one on the trunk, two smaller ones on the front doors)-much better looking and the name GM should have used! I think most buyers are getting tired of GM copying the foreign "alphanumeric" lettering. Our lease is up next July but we plan to trade early to get a 2010 "Wildcat", though probably a V6; the V8 is way too thirsty. I drive my Toronados when I want low MPG! If you can, get a 36-month lease ( not our "39") because in states like California you have to pay registration for the entire year to drive the car the three remaining months. I hope GM keeps the Lucerne/Wildcat in production. There is no other car quite like it! |
